Why does my Boxer do this...

We are adopting an 8 month old Boxer who has the strangest habit. When he yawns, and he closes his mouth, his teeth chatter together. Has anyone ever seen such a thing?

I wouldn't think that it is anything to worry about. You could always get him checked out by your vet.

My mom's Jack Russel mix does this also. However, he's only done it in his old age (he is 15 yrs now), never when he was younger. So we always just assumed it had to do with him aging.

My pittie does this too. I think it's muscle spasms as they go from opening to closing. Or keeps them from biting those darn adorable lips!

Cody does this at times as well. It is not everytime, and we have never been to concerned. I just assume it is a muscle spasm (it has even happened to me sometimes). Plus it is cute as is just about anything he does.

Brody's teeth chatter like that whenever he gets ready to fall asleep! I thought he was the only one!
