Just wanted to know why you chose the puppy/dog you chose.

With Cin I had no choice.. she was the only one left. I wasnt even positive I was going to buy her, I was just going to look at her, but we pulled up to the house, and I saw this chubby little thing sitting at the sliding glass door and when the breeder opened the door and she poked her head out.. i fell in love.

She was a little nervous at first, but i picked her and and there was no way I was ever puttin her down again. :) She was a little nervous on the way home, she shook a bit, but I got her home and she was perfect :)

Willis was mine from the second I saw his first 3 day old photo. I knew all along he was the one for me. I don't know how... All the pups were great, and Kris was torn, but Willis was mine. The breeder was kind of considering giving us his brother instead because of temperament, but I lobbied soooooo hard for Willis, she had to give in! As it turns out, he has always been perfect for us.

This is really bad though, and I still feel awful about it: there was another couple who wanted Willis and got Willis's brother. While we were all trying to choose pups, their GSD passed away, and then they didn't get exactly the puppy they wanted. I felt AWFUL. But, Willis was just always mine. I can't describe why, he just was.... Whenever we visited he was really passive and slept all the time. Kris was worried that he was too lethargic. All of his brothers and sisters were nutbars. Until our last visit at 7 weeks, when all of a sudden he attacked Kris in play. He was so sweet. Awwwww... I am tearing up just thinking about it. My little baby dog.

It is really hard to say what made me choose Shakira. She was so tiny and skinny (much smaller and skinner then her sibs) but when I picked her up and those little eyes just stared at me and then she threw back her head and howled and I took that to mean she was saying "take me" and that is exactly what I decided to do. Shakira was only 2 weeks old at this time and I just knew this was the pup for me, couldn't judge by temperment as she was just too young. I think that she chose me actually. ;)

He picked us!

When we went to the breeders house, they had 6 puppies runnin all around all sooooooooooo cute :) But, this little guy, with feet bigger than his head, lol, followed my hubbie everywhere, crawled up his legs, we didn't know what people meant when they said, he or she picked me, until Dylan. He was already sold to another couple but my husband had the breeder call the woman and she said she'd take his twin brother. Dylan was the best little man in the whole world, Roxie our white boxer was two at the time and fell in love with him. Dylan had a bond with us all, he was very special, my heart still breaks, its like a hole that never closes. He was eight when we lost him to cancer, I know it was the best eight years of our lives, I pray every day it was for him too:( I know he picked us for a reason. I hope we did our job.........noeone would have loved him more....

Originally we were supposed to get a brindle. Our breeder has a male brindle that is gorgeous and was planning a breeding for the spring of 2004. In October 2003 my husband called her and asked if she had or knew of anyone who would have one sooner, he wanted to get one as I was depressed over the death of my brother. We had been out walking Mia and we saw a young boxer pup who made me smile and Eddie said it was the first time in a long time I had really smiled. She let him know she did have one litter that had 3 pups she knew would not be shown and would be ok for pets. A white girl and a fawn boy & girl. He told her we had a boston so would need a pup that could put up with her. She thought the white girl would be the one for us. We drove 2 hours to see her and when we got there all the pups were gorgeous. 2 males that were spoken for came running (one was to be kept by her, the other to the owner of the bitch). We saw the white girl and she was so beautiful, very sweet. Then out from under a bush I saw the fawn male. He was peeking and waiting to pounce. He came out from under his bush and our breeder called him Rocky. My heart melted, Rocky was the name of the boxer I had lost 3 years prior. They could have been twins! That was it and I was hooked! The breeder was happy that we were crying and happy over this new baby! And now he is snoring on my couch!

Molly picked us

When we arrived at the breeders they puppies were in a separate room with their mother, when the breeder went into the room to open the box (welping bed) they were in only one puppy had jumped out of the box and escaped when they opened the door and that was Molly.
We believed that if this puppy worked so hard to meet us first she was the one we would take home.
We wern't allowed to take her home that day she was only 6 weeks at that time and we had to wait until she was at least 8 weeks.
That was a hard time for us knowing that she is ours and having to leave her there.
We love her to death and she was definately the right one

It was the way Toffee looked at me. Her sibling went crazy when you picked her up, but Tof just settled into my arms and looked at me like "Hi, Mommy." So I couldn't NOT take her :) And she has been an angel since the day she came home with me. I love her to pieces. lovicon

After I lost Brandy I wanted another Boxer that looked totally different. I honestly do not think I could have gotten one that looked like Brandy it would have brought back soooo many memories and I was having a hard enough time dealing with her loss at the time. angelicon

I told the breeder what I was looking for and she e-mailed me her picture ..it was love at 1st site. The next weekend we drove 2 hours just to visit she was too young at the time to come home with us. I fell in love with her from that point on. I thought my husband was going to drive home without me that day.. I did not want to leave her she was sooo beautiful. The breeder had named her Blaze because of the streak of white running up the back of her neck. We had to wait 3 more weeks to pick her up ... Once the three weeks were up back to the breeders we went so excited to pick up our baby.. the love has continued to grow from that day.. she will be a year old next month. lovicon

When we went to pick out our first boxer puppy we had no idea what we wanted or what we were doing. The father was a gorgeous fawn, muscular and stocky. The mother was small and brindle. When the puppies were let in the room, it was the most adorable thing to see them all run in. All were brindle except one female who was fawn. That made her stand out to us. Sidda came home with us that day and I have been in love with boxers ever since.

We saw an ad for Henry on our vet's bulletin board one day. He was being given away and called a stud dog by a young family. We went to see this pitiful, thin, dirty 8 month old brindle boy tied in the backyard for most of his puppyhood. Fate brought Henry to us, it was just meant to be!

Mabel picked me...

I had my eye on her brother...brindle with a black mask. He was so handsome and sweet and we thought we'd call him Toby. While the kids were playing with him, a fawn baby with a white star between her shoulders parked herself on my foot. When I moved she moved with me. When I sat on the ground she crawled in my lap and fell asleep. My four year old daughter looked at the puppy in my lap and said, "Mum, that's your puppy."

And so she is. :)

She still crawls in my lap when I sit on the ground even though that star between her shoulders is now on the back of her neck. I can't believe how big she's getting!
