Why Chicken Soup?

My Samson

Super Boxer
So, I went out at lunch today and had to get Samson some more dog food. I noticed the last time I was at the pet store near my work that Chicken Soup was cheaper. Anyway, I went in and grabbed the 18 lb bag of food and made my way to the register (they don't have carts!?). As I was about to pay, the lady at the register says 'Do you mind me asking why you chose this dog food?'. I was a little caught off guard for some reason and my first thought was maybe they were doing a survey on why people choose a certain brand of food. Because I can never get straight to the point and draw out my reasons for everything (which you may have noticed if you've seen previous posts of mine) - I started to tell her about the BoxerWorld website and before I could finish telling her about their great nutrition page and how to look for a good dog food...she interrupted me and started looking at the ingredients. She started saying that a lot of dog foods are horrible but stopped when she saw the ingredients of chicken soup. She seemed impressed in my 'quality dog food knowledge' and said that she has so many people buy dog food and not pay attention to the ingredients. She went on to say that she likes to educate people on quality dog food. Her exact words were 'you'd be surprised at how many dog foods have corn as their number one ingredient!'...

Anyway, I just wanted to give a big thank you to Boxerworld and all the members!! If it wasn't for this site, I would have no idea about dog food and would have been wasting my money on crappy food that I thought was good because it was more expensive!! :)

We will be switching to it also soon as I find someone near here who carries it. Our locally owned pet store doesn't carry anything but the cheap brands of anything, thus I dont shop there because they never have what I want. Good for the lady trying to help out people, although I'm sure some ppl take it offensively. She's only trying to help but you know how that goes sometimes.

Chicken soup

I have been feeding Chicken Soup to Sadie for over 6 months now and she loves it. We buy ours at the local Agway Farm Store. It is actually cheaper than the other garbage foods.

I went to Petsmart tonight and they don't carry it. Should I try Petco or will I have to order it from somewhere? Ty

I doubt Petsmart or Petco carry it.. You'll have to find a local pet shop or feed store most likely to get it.. Here's a link to the site, This page lists all places that CS is available in Texas. :) I order mine from amazon and just pay for the shipping to have it delivered to my door. I pay the same in shipping as what I would in gas to get to the closest place that carries it.

I am switching Maxwell from Nutro Ultra to Chicken Soup. Not because the Nutro is bad or Max is having problems with it but because the Chicken Soup is about $10 cheaper for the same amount. I get mine at the local feed store. Maxwell loves it but he likes the Nutro also.

I love chicken soup and so does Boomer!!! I went to buy him a bag at Pet Supplies Plus and the lady informed me they would not carry it anymore!! I was shocked she said they switched distrubiters and they wont have it. I was totally bummed. Then I found a local doggy daycare and they only sell quality foods and they had it. Hooray!! I asked if they would still carry it and the girl said that they order all their food for their customers so they would definetly keep it in stock. They are going to order me some of the canned food too. I'm soo happy :)

:) Nice to hear of a pet store employee that has some knowledge of quality foods. Seems like wherever I go the workers have no clue as to what is healthy and what is junk...
