How to the pups know when I'm on a business call or a conference call?? They go nuts fighting and playing, whining and crying as soon as I'm on the phone. I work out of my house and they are the worst only when I'm on the phone!! I can be on the computer all day, but I pick up the phone and --Voila!! Instant crazy dogs. Can anyone else relate?

Yup!

Both my furbabies and skinkids do this. I think it's called "Mommy's on the phone radar". I lock myself in the bathroom.

Maybe you could keep a couple of kongs in the freezer, just in case the phone rings. Of course, then you'd have drooling boxers every time the phone range, just like Pavlov's dogs.....

I can relate to that. If you're watching a movie or something interesting on TV, its time to play with the squeeeeeeky ball. Being on the phone its the same thing.

Carol--you'd be amazed at how quickly a Boxer can clean out a kong! Don't buy one that's too tiny b/c that might make it difficult to "access." As we all know, Boxers have quite large tongues----and that makes the "chore" that much easier! I leave Tae with a frozen kong containing a small amount of plain yogurt when I leave for work M-F (she used to get other goodies in it, but seems to have gained a bit of weight) so I rarely see her at work on a frozen one. Once, though, I watched and she cleaned it out in well under 10 minutes!

, this is so very true! The minute the best part of the movie is about to come on, Rocky decides that he must squeak the ball like a little lunatic!

I'm so happy it's a breed standard and not an anomaly You'd think they'd mention it in the AKC description of the breed: Likes to go nuts while owners are on the phone with customers. Today's Saturday so of course they're 'off' and dozing next to my desk. :rolleyes:

Yes, they know when our attention has shifted, and immediately.

Moses likes to get into things on the table, not just food. He will knock over a soda can, or knock off something that my husband is working on, and he does this the instant our backs are turned. We can still be in the same room when it happens!

I tried that once and the dogs nearly clawed the door down wondering what I was doing. I separate them with a baby gate and give each one a bully stick and ahhhh...... instant silence. When you;re stuck at home and have to work, especially conference calls, I would recommend having their favorite chew toys around and separate locations to put them. Works like a charm so far.

I also work out of my home and actually have two businesses. So three phone lines and they are ringing most of the time. I just have to go with it....but you can be assured that if the door bell rings when I'm on the phone, everyone knows it
