DH always wanted a boxer and said as soon as we get married and get into the house were getting a boxer. Thats when we got Harlie. Then i was the one to talk him into rescuing CHopper.

My husband and I got Joe when we bought our house. We wanted him to have a yard. We knew we wanted a dog (my husband had never had one before!!) but it was my idea to get a boxer, I had one when I was younger. My mother's friend had a boxer who was getting ready to have puppies so my mom got him for us as a wedding present. My husband says he has been the best wedding present ever!!

I got both of my boxers before I lived with my fiancee. I'm sharing them, but they are mine! :D It was my idea, but he happily agreed.

My husband's (now X) refusal to get a dog was 1 of the 3 reasons I divorced him. People laugh, but I am serious. I saw it as a test to see how we could handle carring for something other than ourselves. I saw many challenges and learning expirences that we'd have to agree how to deal with, not to mention saving money and compromising.
It was very important to me and he totally dismissed it, which in itself was a sign.
