I didn't want a dog of any kind. Dh wanted a boxer and him and the kids talked me into it! Best thing I was ever coaxed into! :)

This is so much fun to read and kinda interesting. It's sorta mixed, some were the guys idea and some the women. It's also nice to hear that a few people didn't even want dogs and ended up being the best thing ever once they were welcomed into their lives. I couldn't imagine my life without them but I think I have to have a Boxer and a Boston because I love both breeds.
Now if I could only get my hubby to suggest another one some day!

I had to talk my husband into a dog, and it was my idea to get a boxer. I didn't know how much fun they were--I just liked the short hair and size. When we had to put Mia asleep, we were undecided about getting another dog---for one day. My husband wanted another boxer. The house just wasn't the same without one. We had to talk one child into it (she said "I don't want another dog. It hurts too much to lose it"). So, now we have Lola, and , at my husbands suggestion, we are about to become foster parents to a bouncy boxer boy!!!!!!

When I met my DH I did not have a dog at that time. My mom lived with us and was really sick with lung problems. We always had boxers when I was growing up and I had two boxers while I was with my first husband. I was divorced for 9 yrs before I got married again. My mom wanted another boxer so bad so DH and I both decided to get a boxer. We got Abby when she was 8 weeks old. My mom passed away 1 yr before Abby and now we have Atlas. I guess with my first DH it was my idea because he was not a dog lover but with my now honey of a DH it was both of us that wanted Abby and Atlas.

I wanted a dog. I had a cocker when we got married. She past away at the age of 15. I missed having a dog in the family. My husband did not want another dog at all. Well, we did get Cleopatra with a lot of begging. Needless to say Cleo is a big daddy's girl and they are inseperable(sp). We have already talked to the breeder about getting a brother for her. Maybe I will finally get a dog for me this time.

It was my idea to get one. I never had a house dog before but wanted one who could protect us and play well with children. And I saw a white boxer when I was browsing the internet and fell in love. She was the first puppy the breeder brought out for me to look at and after going through about 5 she was still the one I fell for.

Sorry a bit long

We both knew we would have boxers one day when we had a house. I grew up with bulldogs and my hubby had Tyson at home, I was an instant boxer fan.

When bought our first house 10 years ago, I was still living with my folks for awhile, my hubby pushed to get the dogs for security. I wasn't impressed because I wouldn't be there all the time, even though we were at the house every night, (I might as well have lived there), but of course I gave in and we got Sugar and Ray.

My DH had been hinting on getting a third lately when Rays heart started playing up, so we left it. Sadly Ray left us before Christmas, and we now have a bouncing baby Odie who joined us on new years eve. My hubby is saying we should get another pup to keep Odie busy and out of Sugars face so she gets a break. That rubber arm of mine is twisting, even though I know I am the one getting up at night etc etc etc.

I will keep you all posted, but I have a funny feeling of "and then there were three"
