sammie's mom

Boxer Booster
Well, Sammie is 9 1/2 yrs. young. She has a lot of digestive problems & can't walk more than 1/2 mile (in our heat) without laying down for a short rest & she now has to get a running start before she can get up on my bed. But her spirit is young & she still acts goofey!

What is worrying me the most now is that she has to have surgery on Wednesday. Her gums have completely overgrown her teeth-----& she is filled with lumps, bumps & moles. Many years ago she had a cancerous growth removed from her leg, so I am extra worried about all the growths they will be removing!. They are NOT using ACE & both problems will be fixed during one operation.

Please say a prayer for my little girl. She means everything to me. Thanks..........Annie

Annie, I will say a prayer for Sammie. I'm sure she will come through just fine. :)

Boxer Insane
The boxer Mark had as a teenager, Benji, was 8 yrs old when he died, and the Boxer his parents had after that, shanna, was 9 yrs old.

Billy is currently 4 so hopefully we'll have him for a good few years yet.

A few months ago we met a female Boxer in the park, running about like a puppy and her owner said she was 13 yrs!

Boxer Buddy
My Bugsie lived to be 10 years old before going to the bridge. She was having seizures and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am having a very, very hard time with her loss. I did rescue a white boxer 2 weeks ago...so now BUster has a new girlfriend. It's not the same though:(

Sounds as though a lot of boxers are living longer now - thank goodness! I had to have my old girl put down on March 10 - she was 13 years old (born January 18, 1988). The amazing thing about her is that she was white, so they can also lead long lives! How about other older white boxers?

Eddie's mom

Thanks for this thread! It has made me feel so much better! I thought the average boxer only lived until around 8 or maybe 10. I thought Eddie's life was half over. He's only 5 but the first 5 years went so fast, I was afraid the next few would go by too fast!

Britany is 8. That is the nearest we can figure.
Our Cinders lived to 14 1/2. We lost her to cancer.
I too wish that they would live forever. I dont know what
I will do when the time comes for Britany. For now tho Ill just enjoy her and laugh everyday at her antics. lol

My "doggie brother" Jay (he belongs to my parents and just came to visit this past weekend) turned 14 Feb. 6th. He's got arthritis, is diabetic, is deaf but still chased the cat! Go Jay Boy!
