Who has a huge boxer?

Adam is now 9 months and 75 lbs. He's 26". Evie is nearly 2 and only 60 lbs. I just posted new pics yesterday!!

It's really amazing at the size ranges of one breed - certainly not consistent! They're all still SO much boxer though! I consider Ronin to be "teenager" right now (so if he were human his skin would probably be breaking out) :rolleyes:
He is very long and lean - kind of looks gangly, so I'm hoping he starts filling out soon!

We are actually very surprised at how small Charlie is. Her mom is 70 lbs and her dad is 85. Charlie is now 14 months and just 50 lbs. We love her height and weight though.

Be careful about wanting a big boxer. There is a standard for the boxer for a reason. When breeders start trying to breed the boxer for size, they can create health problems. The boxer was meant to be a medium sized dog. Don't get me wrong, there are larger Boxers, but that should be a result of genetics, not breeding. I will say that my Boxer is very big for his age (70 lbs @ 10 months), but I didn't know he was going to be so big, and getting the biggest boxer wasn't a goal of mine. Bear in mind that Bodie is a European Boxer, and they tend to be a little more substantial than the American boxer. But, whether AB or EB, we should all want a happy, healthy boxer, not the biggest boxer. If you are looking for a giant dog try the Bullmastiff or the French Mastiff.

Why so surprised? Charlie sounds just about exactly right to me Bear in mind that at 14 months, she still has some filling out to do (won't be finished till at least 2 years old) so she'll probably gain another few pounds by maturity.

The boxer standard - all versions - call for a *medium* sized dog. For females, that means somewhere between 21-23 inches high at the withers, and weighing between 55-62 lbs. For males, its 22-25 inches, weighing 66-70 lbs. Anything above or below these figures is a deviation from the boxer standard (or blueprint, if you like) and therefore incorrect

Avra is 3 years and 9 months old and about 90lbs (40kg)
She is a very big girl and she is far away from the boxer's standard.

Mason is a little over 80lbs and a whopping 28". He has always been tall. When he was a pup his legs made him look like Bambi cause they were way too big for his body!

My baby Jake is 4 1/2 months and he weighs 45 lbs. When he's coming past you he plows you right over. He's going to be a very big boy. We cant wait!

I am not keen on making my boxers mammoth size that is just how one of them turned out. Quite honestly I wouldnt even consider him mammoth size, several people have told me that he is huge!!

I love them no matter how big or how small they are!! If you ask me they are perfect no matter what.

A boxer is a boxer no matter what size he/she is.:D

Its not that a boxer isn't a boxer if he/she is huge, because boxer owners all know that boxers are great no matter what. What is the problem is people seeking to find big/huge boxers. This creates a market for a boxer outside the standard and therefor encourages unethical breeders to try and breed bigger boxers, which in turn can damage the quality/ heatlth of the breed. Boxer lovers should aim for one gaol and that is the quality/ health of the boxer breed, be it EB or AB. As I said before and have read a couple times in this thread, there is a standard for a reason, being slightly outside the standard can happen, but if people continue to seek the biggest boxer it is could end up having bad consequences for the breed. Work toward a better boxer, if that is possible, not the opposite direction.
