I live in California, the San Fernando Valley, to be precise and am trying to adopt a male white or brindle boxer puppy (under 6 mos) I have a female who is 1 year and she needs a playmate- so he has to be good w/dogs and kids. I don't mind paying an adoption fee- but under $100. any suggesions

What can I say - I am just in the process of adopting one myself - I live in South Wales UK and I approached my local Boxer Rescue centre - they are coming to do a house check and personality check and meet my other boxer. I already have a white Boxer bitch (one of the reasons for looking for boxer is as a companion for her). I would dearly love another white but I will be grateful for what they think will fit in with me. I am sure she will recommend what she thinks is best. They ask for a minimum payment of £70 (around $105) as a donation to their centre. Why not contact your local Boxer Rescue Centre and ask them they can probably be reached through your nearest Boxer Club or I am sure you will find a name on the Internet - happy hunting - I will let you know how I get on - please do the same!!

Hi Lori,

I would suggest calling Ursula at Boxer Rescue of Los Angeles. They have SOOOOOO many boxers that are in need of rescue. I just rescued one 2 weeks ago. A one year old female. She is wonderful and is becoming a great playmate for my 1.5 year old boxer boy. I will give you the website. Just contact her and she can help you out! Boxer Rescue is the best! Save a Boxer!

I hate to tell you this, but $100 will not even cover the expenses to bring the dog current that rescue has into the dog.

I'm not forsure what Boxer Rescue groups in California charges, but ours are between $150 - $200 per dog. This covers the expenses on a few, but on most that we get in rescue, this doesn't cover the costs.
