Cherub - I too would like to see a pic of Oreo. Sounds like a cutie.

I get the same things y'all get, but dalmaton annoys me. Dalmations have spots on their *fur* not just their *skin.*
I hate the albino thing. Some people will honestly continue calling Rita an albino even after corrected as if they know than me!!!

I've done it in reverse - I called a man's Dogo a boxer. :o He was at least happy that I had heard of the Dogo when he corrected me though!

Some of these answers are nuts! Greyhound? A white rottie? A brindle Dobie? Are people really that uneducated?

I am a new boxer owner and my girl is white with a brown spot on her head. She is only 5 weeks old but the day i picked her up i took her to petsmart to get her food and someone was petting her and said she looks like a pitt bull. I just laughed and said no a boxer. They didnt say anymore just kept petting her and saying how cute she was. So that is my first experience on this thread so far with my white boxer Zoe lol. I do own a 3 year old pitt bull that i raised since she was 5 weeks old named Taz. She is also white with a black patch around her eye and people say she looks like petie from the little rascals. I tell people she is boxer and dalmation mix b/c i dont want people freaking out. I call her my lick you to death pitt. She is a sweetie to everyone and everything. Funny how pitts and boxers look so much alike as pups.

Well I dont have a white boxer but I do have a brindle boxer who is quite tall and lean. Someone once asked me if he was part Great Dane!! They were shocked when I said "No he is pure boxer".

My puppy who is also brindle hops the fence so the lady that lives behind us thought that we owned pit bulls and was scared to death until we informed her they were boxers.

Neither one look anything like a great dane or a pit bull.

Of course, we always got the pitbull comment about Remy.

And the "experts" who would argue that he couldn't possibly be purebred boxer.

One guy at the dog park asked if I had ever seen a Dogo Argentino, because my dog looked like one. "Oh, they're so ugly, and, they look kinda like the devil with those ears..." His wife finally came over, pointed out that he was being rude and just told me MY dog looked like that, and drug him away. LOL

The funniest was the man who asked if Bailey (my flashy brindle boxer) was a Brittany!
I hope he just got his words mixed up -- Brittany-Brindle.

Once I was wearing a sweatshirt with a natural-eared boxer on the front. A sales clerk in a store asked if I had a St. Bernard. For a minute I couldn't understand why she would think that, then realized she was looking at my shirt.

To answer the question earlier, YES, people are that uneducated. The other day at my daughter's school, someone pulled up with a huge harlequin great dane in the back of a truck. Someone came in and asked who the dalmation belonged to. Agghhh!! smashicon

The most common thing I get is..."Oh, what a beautiful PIT!" or "That's a PIT/Boxer mix, huh?" They sound shocked when I inform them that he's just a Boxer.

I did just recieve a comment about his cute "dalmation" spots today though...I thought that was funny...someone had mentioned that in a previous Reply. I always just called them freckles!!!
