white boxer owners

I can't count the times my Blizzy was called a Pit, Bulldog (??what??), American Bulldog.

Carson has only gotten the american bulldog thing. Several children, after seeing him, say "look! its a dog like Chance" Chance was the dog in a movie, he was a true American Bulldog.

Lots of times people comment when I say Carson is a white Boxer, Oh, I've never heard of a white boxer..

(I have to admit, on several occasions, I have asked the owners of pups, if they where white boxers, come to find out that they were bulldogs or american bull dogs. LOL. After looking at a lot of bulldog puppy pictures, the white ones do, when very young, resemble a white boxer.)

They do look remarkably similar to American Bulldogs...I met my first white boxer the other day. He was a beautiful young male with a brown ring around his eye. I was talking to the owner and she said she'd bought 'em from a breeder and that she'd never owned a boxer and had been doing a lot of research on them. I, of course, mentioned BW so I hope that she checks it out. Anyway, we were talking about some of the skin issues that they can get being white (needing to wear sunscreen etc... all of which I learned here ) and she said that her puppy looked just like his mom "all white with a brown eye patch". :( I told her that white boxers shouldn't be bred, and that I hoped she wasn't planning on breeding him. She didn't sound like she was but it made me sad to think that there is someone here selling puppies from a white mom. (She also mentioned that the dad was 110 pounds and the mom 85-90!?! Is that healthy?)

well we had the computer guy at the house doing some work, and he asked me how old my dalmation was. He told me that his parents breed dalmations, and thought mine was very cute.
OK, so Annabelle has a lot of spots, but dalmation? Please!?!?

dalmations on steriods if he thought your dog looked like a dalmation i can only imagine what his parents dalmations looked like....... prehaps boxers

Ive gotten that a LOT with basil... esp. when she was younger. One man actually tried to convince me she was one because he bred them!!!!!?????!!!!!!

If I had a penny for everytime someone said "I've never seen a white boxer before" or "I didn't know they came in white - is he an albino - are they rare"???

I do believe this is the reason Tonto is so rated at our local park - which has 11 regular boxer dogs and each and everyone one of the owners fuss so much over Tonto. My poor boy Mambo doesn't get a look in these days (unless he goes up and slaps a sloppy kiss on their cheek to remind them he exists) - lucky he is more interested in his ball than the affections of everyone at the park.

We have been asked to do a photo shoot for a "Animal Photographer" so he can use the pics for his advertising and website - sure this wouldn't have happened if Tonto wasn't white....
