White Boxer at Shelter - Austin, TX

A friend of mine rescued a White Male Boxer from their neighbors backyard in Austin, TX yesterday.

He was left in their backyard tied to a 5-ft chain every day and rarely even had any shade or water. Our friends rescued him, but they already have 2 dogs so they cannot keep him. He is purebred, in tact (can you believe the owners actually planned on breeding him?!!) and white with a brown patch on one eye.

He acts pretty young, but is probably 2yrs or under. Anyway, he is currently at the Town Lake Animal Shelter being prepared for adoption and treated by the vet for sores he has on his body (from the heat and sun). TL Animal Shelter IS a KILL shelter, so I wanted to pass the word along and hope that one of you can help find this little guy a home!! He is a very sweet boy who needs a good, loving home indoors!!!

Hey....My husband is interested in getting a white boxer...is the boxer that was rescued in Austin still @ the shelter?..If he is can I get some more info on going about adopting him....

Yes - to both questions!

The Boxer should still be at the Shelter, as I think he was just taken there yesterday or today.

I am sure they want to neuter him before they adopt him out. I also contacted Lone Star Boxer Rescue to let them know as well.

Hi Everyone,

This boy will be picked up by River City Boxer Rescue of San Antonio ( I am going myself) on Sat. August 10th. I am glad to hear his story. We will certainly select a special home for him. first we will get him up to speed on his weight and get him checked out by a vet f it appears he needs it. Then we will work with him on behavior and see how he gets along with others.

Check out our website he will appear there within 2 weeks.

Up date on PETEY, we went to Austin and picked him up today, of course we got there early and had to wait. He was in a pen in front where we could see him so we spent 45 minutes talking to him. We got him and spent some time with him before putting him in the truck ( laid down backseat of a supercab ) he rode well and by the time we got to San Antonio he had made up with Donna (my wife). We got to Mickeys(BR Boss) and let him run in the yard and get settled in. He is easy to spook, but showed signs that he will get over it. All he needs is lots of hugs and kisses and some good grub, and he will get all of these with us.

Thanks so much, Keith for stepping in and helping this little guy find a new loving home!

Our friends who rescued him initially were just besides themselves - they are SOO happy that he was rescued by a Boxer Rescue Organization.
