Hello to all the BW members. I was recently doing some research on switching dog foods from Purina Pro Plan to Solid Gold and came across the Whole Dog Journal's list of dog foods. After reading various forums pertaining to this topic I had noticed that many people have a hard time finding the dog foods listed on the WDJ.
I just wanted to let the BW members that live in the Chicagoland area and it's southern suburbs, as well as the neighbors in nearby Northwest Indiana, that I had discovered a small "mom & pop" feed store that carries a wide variety of the dog foods listed on the WDJ list.

The name, address, and telephone number of the store is:

Ted's Feed Store
3138 180th
Lansing, IL
(708) 474-3000

The dog foods they carry from the WDJ list are:

Artemis
Back to Basics
California Natural
Canidae
Chicken Soup
Eagle Pack Holistic
Innova
Merrick
Natural Balance Ultra
Nutro
Pinnacle
Royal Canin Natural Blend
Solid Gold
Wellness

They are even willing to special order any type of brand of dog food that you wish, in case they don't carry it.

I hope this helps out anyone that lives within driving distance of the store.

appollosdad,
I too am from Northwest Indiana and I have found that the feed stores and some garden nurseries in Indiana also sell the better dog kibble, so you don't have to go into Illinois just to buy it. I'm not sure how close you are to the line but I am about 30 minutes away.

yes it is a small world, i actually take apollo to the munster animal hospital. we usually visit with dr. foster there. nice to meet a fellow boxer owner that is somewhat close by.
have you ever attended any boxer meetups at the petsmart in merrillville?
they are usually held there once a month on a saturday morning. word hasn't gotten out yet, but we're hoping more for people to hear about and come out to enjoy the group's company.

That sounds interesting I need to call and get some info. on it. We like to go there often, it's one of Sadie's favorite places to go. She is just about done with her puppy kindergarten class and then we are checking into clicker training for her.
