Hang in there!! I didnt think Tug was ever going to get it for awhile! Everytime you turn around he was doing something in the bedroom right after coming in!!! :( Then all of a sudden he was doing it right all the time. He is now about 7 months and rarely has an accident in the house :)

Romansmom,
I would take a step back and look at the dominence thing described earlier.
See how they look at you. See if they might think they rule the house. Most all boxers are smart and easy to train (in general), but some are more "headstrong" than others. Which I think is good, give's them a good character and personality, but also can lead to the being the alpha male in the group or family. That is ok unless they are seeing theirself leader over you. Whether its a domenince thing or not it takes time and patience. Have you tried training him in any obedience? if not try that. You will be giving him good lessons that are lasting and over time show him that you are in charge and will listen to you. Starting with treats then slowly weaning him off treats to where he will do a sit or lay command w/o treats.Who know's, it might work.
:)

oh my goodness! Someone who is having the same issues as me! I have been afraid to write about this because I didn't want people to think I was a bad "Mom." Zoe, who is almost 1, does the same thing! She will go outside, do her business, and still come and pee inside. She won't hold it very long. She also does the staring at the door, and if you don't acknowledge her soon enough, she goes on the floor. Although, she doesn't poop inside. We only have an issue with peeing. And she will go weeks without doing it inside, then she will do it 3 or 4 times in one day. I don't understand! I am sorry for your inconvenience, but its nice to know that I'm not just a bad Mom!!!

They usually get better at around 5-6 months. Just don't let your guard down tho. You still need to run him out every 1/2 hour or so if he is having accidents in the house and after a meal, when he wakes up, after playing. He is still very young and still learning the rules. Can't really trust them fully until they are 9 months to a year.

That is real good progress that she goes to the door!!!! She is letting you know she has to go out and she has to go out immediately. As soon as she heads to the door you should be running to let her out. Maybe hang a bell on the door handle. This works real good if you don't SEE her head for the door. Ring it before you take her out than open the door.

Kona caught on to this trick real fast and has really helped in potty training.
