When did you neuter your Boxer?

We had Layla spayed at about 7 months to avoid statistically known health issues later.

However health problems are not the issue with males so we waited longer for Jack. I would have preferred not to get it done at all, however we were repeatedly told nonintact males would be aggressive toward Jack. We also got tired of hearing the advice it needs to be done, and since we were not intending to breed it didn't matter. However, we decided to wait at least 12 months before neutering to give hormones a little more time. The actual deed occurred at about 14 months. Next time I would wait to 18 months.

In hindsight, it did not affect his behavior in any way with one notable exception. When intact, it would take several leg liftings before he could completely relieve himself. Or we would need to take several trips outside. Which is frustrating when you are holding the other end of the leash in the rain. I don't think he was holding back intentional, it just didn't flow very long. Now he is able to relieve himself completely at one time. I have no idea why. However is a major advantage.

We also did not see behavior of other dogs to him change either. Some got in his face before, some get in his face now. He isn't aggressive, shows good calming signals, friendly to all, etc. However, lately it seems dog parks have more bullies with clueless owners. Jack will not provoke, however he does respond back assertively when attacked. So we no longer go to dog parks, except for boxer bashes.

Gunner is 5 months and both of his testicles are undescended. When should we have him neutered? The vet of course is saying now, but I'd like to wait as long as possible without causing harm.

You should have him neutered now. If they haven't dropped by now, they aren't going to. You will want to have them removed before they start creating complications.

I didn't have Thor neutered until last year. He was 9 1/2 yrs at the time. He never marked in the house and was never agressive. He never even went after a female in heat! Two or three dogs have gotten aggressive with him tho' and he just stood there. One dog bit his throat and he literally just stood perfectly still. Since he didn't react the other just stood as well, until the other owner grabbed him off. The only reason he was neutered then was because he had a blocked urethra and they had to reroute it and create another "exit" for it, and his testicles would have been in the way. Now he not only doesn't have his testicles, but he has a "hole" similar to a female. My poor boy looks like a transgender dog! (He does still have his penis, but it serves no actual purpose.)

Awwwwwwww poor guy lol!!

Tucker is still intact...I'm torn about having him neutered tho. The only thing that bugs me is they stare at me lmao, he lays just right so their in my face!!

I am choosing to neuter somewhat early compared to a lot of others here (at 6 months old) but we go to a busy dog park daily and I don't want to risk any accidental litters popping up (especially with my boy's less-than-favorable white boxer genes) even if it means that he may look "less manly" in his adult years. If you are never potentially going to be around intact females, there is no harm in waiting. However, if you are, do it before they reach sexual maturity to help reduce the unplanned puppy population.

neutering

cuddi just turned 18months old the other day, and he is not neutered. we have no problems with him hes a good boy, hes not aggressive towards other dogs, we've taken him to the dog park since he was old enough and always taught him to not be aggressive. hes hyper, but hes a boxer!! its just in their nature! he listens though and we never have any problems with him, so im not really planning on neutering him, its unnecessary as of now. plus a lovely akc female is looking to breed with him because of his good genetics, but not until hes at least 2yrs old.

I hope you are planning to do all necessary health testing (for both parents) and get conformation titles to ensure that both dogs are worthy of breeding.
