We had Zeke neutered at 5 months. We've never had a boy dog and were afraid of marking. Vet told us 5 months was old enough so we had Zeke and Zira taken care of on the same day. Zeke is the sweetest, most gentle boy. I don't know if it has anything to do with neutering on the young side, but I wouldn't have done it any other way. We got total peace of mind and we have a healthy, happy boy.

His sister, on the other hand, is a wild woman! What is it about the girls on the board being crazy?!

I think you are better off waiting until a year or so at least. I think their head becomes wider, their body fills out better and they look more masculine the longer you wait.

Moto got neutered at almost exactly one year or age. One day he lifted his leg in the house to mark and that was it.

Neutered?

Hello! Not sure if neutering a boxer will calm them down. Burns happen :)

When we got Bentley, it was in the contract to wait at least 12 months to neuter. The veterinarian on the other hand is very anxious to do so before 12 months because of cancer risk.

I got Hugo done when he was about 7 months old, I'm torn about it. His brother, who has yet to be snipped, he's a good 15lbs heavier and inch taller.

However his brother is also more aggressive, hard headed and in general never listens always in trouble boxer. Knowing they were both raised the same general way (His brother was a present to my mother, so I know it wasn't anything to do with how he was raised) Hugo is sweeter and listens more, training is easier, etc.

But his other brother was neutered at 5.5 months and he's the largest of the litter. Which makes me think it really just all depends on the dog. Earlier or later is just up to you and how he's growing.

This is the reason why I am waiting to get Titan nuetered. I brought a male dog home and want to make sure his male hormones get to do their job before they are taken away! I know way to many people with tall, skinny male boxers that look like females. Not that females are bad, Ihave one of those too.

Gunner is 5 months and both of his testicles are undescended. When should we have him neutered? The vet of course is saying now, but I'd like to wait as long as possible without causing harm.

I was worried about this with Charlie, But he filled out perfectly fine and is no light weight(80lbs of happy lap boxer). He is a more submissive dog, but I don't think that has to do with neutering I think that is just a personality trait like with humans.

Napoleon was snipped at about a year old. We adopted him with his manhood still intact, but he wasn't supposed to be released to us without it being done first. How they missed it, I don't know, but we took him to the vet and had it done.

He is just as "aggressive" as he was, maybe only slightly less calmer, although that may have come in the 3 years since as he gets older. He is a big boy though, 80 lbs and very well filled out.
