I have a 13 month Male boxer that is still intact and we are going to neuter him at 18 months- When did you neuter your Boxer? And did you change your mind about the ideal neutering age example: he was getting to aggressive with other dogs-to hyper- etc

We had Snatch neutered at 2 years old.. because the vet was getting on my nerves.. I caved in.. I kind of shouln't have. Snatch had no issues. After hat, he became a timid/scaredy dog.. I don't know if this is related... but his fears appeared after his neutering.

We had Oxford neutered at 6 month old because one of his testicule was undescended.

I had Achilles neutered at i believe 18weeks (4.5months), i wanted to make sure it was after he had all his shots.

My reason for doing it young was because, i wanted it done before he learned to start marking everywhere, i did want him to fully develope then have a loose skin danggling down there, and my gf is all about spaying and neutering pets.

I got Charlie done at 8 months. My vet started telling me I could do it when he was 6 months, but I wanted to wait until he was 8 months. He never had any issues of any sort, but I didn't want to wait until he was a year because I knew I wouldn't do it then.

Raiden is booked in in 2 weeks when he turns 6 months old.
I've always spayed/neutered my pets at 6 months and never had any issues with it.

I know you asked about neutering, but we are having Lucy spayed in just a few weeks, at 6 months. We had our Saint Bernard spayed at 6 months too. A friend told me last night that spaying her boxer had no affect whatsoever on calming her down. :)

Titan is 10 months now, but I am not getting him nuetered until he is 18 months.

I don't take my dogs around other dogs other than the ones we accidentally pass on walks, so his attitude toward other dogs will not change my mind. The only thing that might change my plans is the fact that he has an undescended testicle. But it is not expected to strangle, because two vets have told me it is right by the canal, as opposed to being up inside his abdomen. But if by chance there is any issues I would have him nuetered immediately.

That's a good question I'm interested in knowing myself,we plan on getting another boy some day when we are ready.I was told if there was any training that the neutering should wait until the training is done has anyone else heard of this.I was told it keeps there drive going to learn. Our next boy I would like to extend on the training. Our other boy only had puppy school which made him a perfect boy.We never had any issues a lot of others have had.

I know you asked about neutering - but both my girls were spayed at 6 months. This was before I had done any of my own reading about it, nowadays I wouldn't do it that young.

If I had a male I'd keep him intact as long as possible. If that ended up being his whole life, great. Would depend on circumstances though, for example I wouldn't want to own an intact male and intact female, that's a little more trouble than I want to manage.
Most issues that come up though I think are more attributed to training, and not just the dog being intact--so neutering wouldn't be my first option if my dog were having behavior problems.

Rocky was neutered at 8 weeks old.....prior to us adopting him from a rescue.

I know that isn't ideal - but he's honestly one of the most gentle, loving dogs ever. He is a big baby - probably from not having the hormones he should have had growing up - but I wouldnt' have it any other way.

He's 76# of lap dog - who suckles his blanket at night, drags his blanket everywhere, and loves being a 'daddy dog' to all of our foster pups. Not one ounce of aggression in him. I could NEVER see him biting or attacking anyone/anything.
