What's your Boxer's Route?

the outdoor burn is round and round the pool--its great cuz the part thats on the concrete keeps cassius and ottos' toenails short! Also when they do the flip around to go the other way its funny!
The indoor burn is up the stirs into the bedrroom leap into the bed--down the stairs leap onto the couch--coming down the staird they do the KRAMER slide into the kitchen!

Bhoj's burn is where ever my boston terrier goes. She runs around and he follows in a frantic pace until he catches her then they wrastle.

Funny thread!!! Mister B. obviously has a 'route' because I can see a slightly muddy/damp/carpet worn figure-8 pattern in my living room! Beasley's burn almost always starts outside since he has to run toward me as fast as he can after he's had a successful potty (does anyone else's pup do this?) and then I open the slider door so he can continue the burn inside. Gotta run around the dining room table, down the hallway to my bedroom, jump up on the bed (pause/sigh), jump off the bed back down the hallway into the great room where he will leap about 6 feet and land on the sofa (pause/sigh), jump off the sofa and then make one more lap around the dining room table. I just stand back and laugh...it's just the cutest thing ever!

Tyson usually starts his burn in the living room around the pool table. He'll go all around the pool table a few times, and then go underneath it. Then he goes into the kitchen and burns a few times, and then runs outside (permitting the door is open) and does some burns outside. Then he'll race FULL speed into the house and start over in the living room again. He's got my rotti doing it now too, .

Burn Baby Burn

Tyson does her burn around the living room then down the hall to the ping pong room then into the main bed room and back into the living room where she does a huge leap onto the couch and back out again.

I mistakenly cracked a beer the other day and just sat down when all of a sudden tyson comes aroudn the corner in mid burn and leaps for the couch. She didn;t know I was sitting there so she landed right on me causing my beer to explode all over the both of us.

I got a look from her like what are you doing in my way.

Muggsey's route starts in the middle of the livingroom. He leaps to the couch and bounces off the back of it back into the middle of the livingroom. Then he does the helicopter spins and takes off behind and around the recliner and another helicopter spin and then back to bouncing off the couch and it all starts over again. If he is upstairs, he will start in our room and run into the spare room and then back and up onto the bed and then back into the spare room....etc. When he starts these, I just move off the couch and stand in the middle of the livingroom because if I am on the couch, I will get flying feet to the face!!!

Boxer burns go under the bed

Hailey and Jasmine doen't necessarily have a set route, but primarly it is upstairs. I think they generally do it upstairs because there is a long "L" shaped hallway that extends from the bonus room to the master bedroom. They love to boxer burn down the hallways then nosedive under the bed! I though because they got bigger there would be no way they could still nosedive under the bed a full speed, but they do. Actually I think they hit the brakes and slide under the bed. Sometimes if they are really going their boxer burns will involve the staircase (so don't be in the way). I swear they only hit about 3 steps coming and going. Too funny. Sophie usually follows along. I really like to see it when Alex gets involved although he doesn't do nearly as much running. He is almost 9 and I just cannot ever remember him playing at all so it's a joy to see him running with the bid dogs!

Max out 21 month old starts down stairs in the tv room and then runs up two flights of stairs, does a flying jump on the bed in the spare bedroom and then back down stairs, does a 360 burn around and then back up again. Outside he does the figure eights, sometimes running by me so close that I think he is going to know me over. Very funny. After that he will take a nap for a while.

Burn baby burn!

At my mother's home, there is one LARGE living room and dining room. Abby and Wilson will take off and run around the living room and under the dining room chairs. At Wilson's house, he has two spots. He will run around and around the pool table in the game room and around the couch in the living room!

Toffee doesn't burn at my apartment--I think because it's all hardwood floors At my parents' house, the route is from the foyer, down the hall, into the guest bedroom and onto the bed, off the bed and out of the bedroom, down the hall, and into the living room. She then tears down the hall again and repeats the route in/out of the bedroom.

Outside, she does a burn from the front yard across the driveway to the side yard and back. If she is doing a MAJOR burn, she loops around the house too. And we're not talking a small space here... my parents live on 20 acres and the yards around the house are at least a couple of acres!
