What's your Boxer's AKC name and why?

I don't know if there has been a thread like this before....but I thought it would be lots of fun to find out what unique names have been used also it would be really neat if you would tell how you came up with the name.

Here's mine....

Dixie's AKC name is: Precious Dixie Diana

Precious....was Dixie's Mother's name
Dixie....was the name we decided we wanted to call her
Diana....was in honor of Princess Diana. I was a big fan of hers.




Brittany's AKC name is: Buddy's Lil Tiger Brittany

Buddy was Brittany's Dad....She is a tiger colored/striped brindle....and my hubby picked the name Brittany as what we would call her

Domino's AKC is Domino's Rising Star

Indy's AKC registered name is, "Minstrel's Eye of the Tiger". Minstrel Boxers is the breeder from whom we got Indy. Katherine who owns Minstrel Boxers teaches music, directs musicals, and performs from time to time.

One of her "requirements" is that the dog's registered name must have a connection to music. We wanted Indy's name to have a link to our first Boxer, Rocky. Eye of the Tiger is one of the theme songs from the Rocky movies, so it met both requirements. That Indy is a brindle and has markings similar to a tiger makes it a perfect fit.

The next challenge is to come up with a name for the little girl we will be getting in about nine weeks if all goes according to plan. She'll either be a white, or a plain brindle.

Sophie's AKC name is Kwiiwihsa Apeehsia (KWEEwisa apacia) Which is Miami Indian for "girl" little fawn or elk, her being a girl and fawn. We live in a predominent area of Miami Indian history and are lucky enough to have Miamis still living in this area. (Miami County) Her given name is alot to spit out in a hurry if we have to.....so we call her Sophie only because I love the name.:p

Ok here goes Loke's AKC name is.....Loke. I know, I know... According to a Hawaiian dictionary we bought on arrival to Hawaii and just before we picked her up, Loke means Rose. Really we just liked the sound of it and Rose was good too. She had to have a Hawaiian name since she was born there!

Corgan's AKC name is .....Corgan Asher Malachi. He was our first purebred and when I looked at his pedigree they all had fancy 3 worded names so we made up 3! Corgan is from Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Asher, I don't know and Malachi just came from my hubby's head. It sounded cool so there it is.

Brighid's AKC name is: Millers Lady Brighid of SP

Millers was the breeders kennel name, Lady Brighid is after the Celtic Goddess Brighid who was a poet, healer and warrior, and SP is the initials of the kennel name that my mom and I have registered with AKC (Swe Pea).

Alora- always loved the name
Abigail- same as above
Ascension- kept with the heavenly theme of her daddy, he was the archangel Gabrial, etc

Naz is my 12week old brindle male his AKC name is Nazareth's

Nazareth- we got him at Christmas

Bark Vader- That speaks for itself

Hemingway is my favortie writer and I think Faulkner is way over hyped. My favorite Hemingway quote "Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don't know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use."

Hammer is officially Sir Handsome Hammer! This is what his daddy called him the day I brought him home (Hammer was gift to my husband) and it just sort of stuck!

I wanted to call him Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but alas, he isn't silver!

Keno was a roomate of mine in college. Keno weighed in at about 360lbs and was about 6'6". Keno had a heart of gold, I always told him that I would name my first born after him. So when I bought my fist boxer I said to myself this looks like a Keno. So I adopted a name and a boxer. I just hope if I ever have any kids they turn out to be 1/2 as good as either Keno that I know.
