I would like to introduce myself...My name is Amy and I'm from Buffalo, NY. My fur kids are Kimo (Hawaiian for "Jim") a 14 year old Pom/Spitz mix, Apollo, our 6 year old flashy fawn male love bug, Daisy, rescued classic fawn waiting for us at the rainbow bridge after a long battle with cancer, and our newest baby, Vegas (coming home Aug. 5th), flashy brindle female too cute for words! We lost our Daisy Feb. 28, 2004. It's been a long healing process, but we're finally ready and so is Apollo. Since Daisy's passing he's been depressed. After a couple of meetings with other boxers/puppies, Apollo perked right up. A new baby sister is just what the doctor ordered! Please check our Vegas' picture in "Boxer Puppies" gallery. We're so excited! I can't seem to upload Apollo's picture because the files are too large. I will keep trying. I'm looking forward to chatting with and learning from all of you about our babies. I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! See ya 'round Boxer World!

Hello and welcome to you and your babies! You will love BW-such a great site!! Glad you have joined the fun here!

Vegas is going to be beautiful! Also, I like the name Kimo, sounds so much more exotic than Jim. I'm glad that you joined and I look forward to seeing a lot more pictures of your pretty baby.

Thank you!

What a warm welcome! Why didn't I do this years ago? I took the "kids" for icecream the other night and while there a couple came up who also owned boxers. We sat for 45 minutes bragging and telling funny stories about them. There's a certain comradery to owning a boxer, isn't there? It's like we're all one big family! Anyway, I wanted to explain Kimo's name. My sister was based in Hawaii in the Air Force (yea I know, tough life!) but her job was an MP(Military Police). The base there is just like it's own city. When people would get their orders to transfer, often over seas, they would literally just open their door and let their dog or cat go. There were packs of 100 dogs that would roam the base. It was truly sad. Kimo was one of those dogs. My sister was on patrol late at night and found him scouring for food in a construction site. She though he was black, but after she got him into the car, he was covered in tar. She lived in the barracks where there were no dogs allowed. She took him to the vet, had him shaved and vaccinated and brought him home to me her next visit home. He's from HAWAII! You should have seen his face the first time he saw snow. He loves the snow! I'm in Buffalo so there's plenty. I just love telling his story and he's just the sweetest, cutest thing you've ever seen. The vet figured he was about 3 when Michelle found him. And I've had him for over 11 years! He shows no signs of slowing down. I have him on Cosequin for a little arthritis in his hips and he's like a puppy again. Running and jumping and playing like crazy. Okay, I've bored you enough...Everyone, thank you for such a nice welcome. Talk to you all soon!
