Mine is...

The Olympus C-5000. It has 5.0 Megapixel and lots of features. I have a 265MB memory card which came separate. It will hold about 4 or 5 rolls of film. The memory card was over $100 all by itself!!! But Film is expensive too.

My aunt is a pro and her advice when I was shopping was buy a camera that is made by a camera maker...not a computer maker. Also go for the most Megapixels that you can afford.

Good Luck with your purchase. We looked for a long time before we got ours
but it was worth it.

I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-V1 and I LOVE LOVE it!!! It's has manual and automatic settings. It takes great pictures. It's 5 MP, 4x Optical, and I don't remember what the digital zoom is.

It has the Carl Zeiss Lens.

I have heard the other Cybershot models were very good also.

Good Luck!

I have recently bought a tiny little Pentax Optio s5i and it is great. I have a Pentax Z-70 SLR (film) for my serious stuff but the little compact is as small as a credit card (well nearly).

Check out my gallery for the latest photos are with my new digi.

If you're going for ease of use, I would recommend HP.

I work at Office Max in electronics, so I do my fair share of camera explanations.

I enjoy optical zoom, I recently got an HP 945. It's rather big and bulky, but it's 5.3MP and 64x zoom. Works for anything, even movies with sound. Also with a 512MB SD card. Granted, I didn't pay for any of this, it was a rather wonderful gift, but if you're into close-up shots I would recomment it without hesitation.

I just bought a Fuji Finepix E550 - actually it's a Christmas present from my husband. The model that is one step below the E550 (I think its the E5100) has been rated as the best Christams buy for a digital camera this year. The E550 is 6megapixels and has I believe a 4x optical zoom. I really like this camera, the only problem I have noticed with it is if your in a nighttime situation the LCD screen doesn't light up and so you can't tell what your taking a picture of - though the pictures turn out okay. My mom and sister-in-law both have the E550 and love it. It is a little pricey at around $400, but for a 6 megapixel camera thats not bad.
