Boxer Booster
My Boxer, Kronk, is only 6 months old and he is definitely my most favorite dog I've ever had, as a kid or adult. Roby, our rottweiler/shepherd mix who died several years ago comes in a close second. We currently have a 12 year old chow and, though I love her, there has never been a major connection to her like the one I had with Roby or have even more intensely now with Kronk. Yes, there is definitely something about Boxers. Well, for one thing, Kronk doesn't just lay around all day like the chow! He actually wants to be with me. He is so hilarious and entertaining. He's even entertaining just to look at. No matter what he's doing, even sleeping, it's fun to just look at him! I love it when he's wandering around, hears something, perks up his head and tilts it, sometimes with one ear flopped over and lifts one of his paws and just ... pauses. Waiting to figure out what he just heard. He has the cutest expressions and mannerisms.
He currently has demodectic mange and I have had to come to terms with the reality that this kind of condition is sometimes untreatable and that some dogs have to be put to sleep who are miserable with it. I was crying over it the other night and my husband was kind of blown away. He just hugged me and said that Kronk was lucky to have me for an owner. Someone who cares so much for him.
I am much more encouraged today, by the way. His mange seems to be getting better and I know his chances are good. But it sure is scary thinking about losing him.
Boxers are a special breed and I plan to have another one some day.

when we go places where they don't allow (boxers) we make our trip short & sweet, because we don't want to leave our babies alone to long. I can't even imagine what life would be like without them!
