What would we do without them

The other night dh and I were sitting on the patio and watching the puppies do boxer burns and just talking about them in general. We realized that we talk all the time about them. He calls me at work if they do something cute (he's home with them all day). We have rearranged our schedule around them. We take them wherever we can and hate leaving them.

My bro-in-law told us that we've gone off the deep end as all we talk about are our girls. He asked us how we cope with all the kids around (our 6 yr. son and his friends and our 23 yr old daughter), the 3 cats, the 2 puppies and the bird. He said our house is so crazy. wackicon My dh told him that yes it's chaotic, but we love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. I think bro-in-law was mad the other night because we had all been out to dinner and he wanted to do something else and we said we had to get home to the girls. He couldn't understand that. He's not a doggie person.

I know that we're not the only ones who feel this way about our "babies", but the feelings I have for these babies is so intense.

My father in law didn't close the gate yesterday and the girls got out, thankfully we realized it right away and they were just tearing around the front, but I was furious and started yelling at him for not closing the gate properly. nonoicon I know I hurt his feelings, but I specifically told him to make sure he closed the gate all the way as the girls were out whilst we were all in the pool. I was so afraid something could have happened to them. I'm not crazy am I being so in love with these puppies? lovicon

I don't think so...I swear my life revolves around Champ
He comes up in EVERY conversation that I have and my husband also emails me pictures of Champ at work!! It is the best part of my work day! I can't wait to get home from work everyday just to see both of them (husband and Champ). Like some poeple on here say...I am owned by my boxer!!

I keep our side fence gates padlocked. Only my hausband and I know the combination. This way the neighborhood kids can't get in, etc. The only way out of the yard is thru the house. It is a little bit of a hassle but at least I now the dogs can't get out without us knowing it.

"not a doggie person"

Tell me about not being a dog person. I hated dogs when I was younger. I would spend the night at my friends house, get ready for school and then their dog would come up and lick me and gross me out.

When we decided to get our boxer it was more because my husband loved dogs and it was going to be for him. I went through all the books with him and we decided to get a medium breed because we were in a condo and everyone said that boxers were house dogs (he goes to my parents every day to play in their yard). I said, these one's are really cute and sounds like exactly what we want. We didn't even know anyone that had a boxer at the time. Now everywhere we go we run into someone that says, I had a boxer as a kid or boxers are my favorite dog. It's funny.

It's so crazy. I love Dillon like he was my own child. I let him kiss me on the face, drink out of my glass, nothing about him bothers me (okay except the gas). It's is like a spell that these boxers put over you. I can't wait till we get another one.

I will give him kisses and hugs and whisper in his ear, just don't tell anyone that cause I don't like dogs. My husband thinks it's hysterical.

It is the same way we we are at my dad's house, who lives 3 blocks away, after 2 hours at the most we always come home to check on the babies. My dad who is not a dog person either, does not understand it! Yesterday we were out to eat with my mom, and she was looking at pictures on our digital, and was amazed at how many pictures of them we had on there. Of course you have to realize my kids took over half of them, but you get the point. She was joking around saying there was more pictures of them than of our skin kids! Our lives would definately not be the same without them! lovicon

my husband and i are like you guys we are always talking about the girls. my son is 13 and he is also saying things like you let them get away with murder, your more worried about them then me(not true) they get everything they want(true) we laugh because it seems everything revolves around them, my son and his friends are at that age where they go into the room for hours and play video games, or talk on the phone or just arent home and the girls are like my kids. we take them where we go-luckily we only know dog friendly people-my son my rant, but at night he is curled up with them watching tv or hanging out.we would be lost without them

Layla is my LIFE!! She has my husband and I wrapped around her cute little paw. Almost every decision made involves her and she works her way into every conversation. Once you own a boxer, you understand, until then non-boxer owners will always think we're a little touched! lol

We plan everything outside of work around our boxers. If we go out, we try to go somewhere that we can take them with us. We feel bad if we do something after work and have to leave them home alone longer. We schedule extra time in our plans to go home and make sure they're ok and let them out. My mom thinks we're crazy because we always have to go home and get them after work before we can go anywhere else. My co-workers think I'm crazy because I'm leaving work early Friday and driving four hours to attend a boxer bash. They just don't understand.

My babies always get part of whatever mommy is eating and they can never have enough toys. A year ago, no one could've convinced me that I would be so totally in love with my boxers. Now, I find myself devoting most of my attention to them whenever possible. They get more kisses and love than their daddy does.

Just this morning, I took a break from my workout and they were still sleeping in bed with daddy. I had to stop and crawl into bed just to cuddle with my babies for a few minutes. There's nothing better than warm , sleepy, cuddly puppies.
