I find it amazing how quickly Scarlet learns new words and phrases. Sometimes it only take us saying something one time and she knows what we are saying the next time.

What words does your Boxer know, other than the basics (sit, stay, come, treat, etc.)?

Here are some that Scarlet knows:

Wanna go to the lake? (Stops dead in her tracks)
Wanna go on the boat? (Eyes bug out)
Look at the Chipmunk! (This one makes her nutso)
Where's Mischeif? (Chow Bud) (Cocks her head)
Whats that!? (Looks out every window)
Gimme Kiss. (If Im lucky I get one)

Who's here? (runs to front door then sliding glass door, kb-ing)
Go see! (runs to front door and barks/whines)
Water? (ears pop up, head cocks)
Eat? (same as 'water')
Wanna go out? (runs to leash, then door, and if I'm not fast enough runs back to me...tongue hanging out)
Where's Mable? (his 5yo female fawn boxer friend, he goes crazy at the mention of her)

Belle only knows one word really well yet... NO. With this word she usually gives us a good bark in retaliation and keeps right on doing what she was doing to get yelled at. Always has to get the last word, that's a boxer for you!

Lets see if I can remember them all...
Ice cream? - wiggles at the fridge
Walk? - wiggles at the door
Doug (my fiance)? - straigt to the door
Granny and Pop? - straight to the door
go in the car - Dayla usually runs so fast to the car that she runs into the parking area, to which I have to yell her name and she runs into the car
outside - wiggle butts at the front door
who's that, who's there? - barking at the front door
treat? cookie? - straigh to the treat cabinet
Where'd she/he go? - crazy up and down the stairs
get your ball! - when Day takes Hook's ball, i tell him this and he goes and grabs it back
get her! get him! - they go after each other

I have to spell all of these...but spelling doesnt work for Walk or Ice Cream, they know what you are talking about when you spell those so now we say W for walk and IC for Ice Cream...

Where's mommy/daddy? (Stops what he's doing and searches for one of us).
What's that? (Goes into attention mode: head cocked and held high, tail upright and still)
Go get it! (Usually after "What's that?" and he chases whatever it is he sees: a pigeon, a squirel, a leaf, a dust particle)
Who's that? (similar to "What's that?" except his tail wags faster than a helicopter's blades)
Water? (Stops, looks at me and sits....that is if he's thirsty)
Food! (Wakes up if he's sleeping, stops whatever he's doing, goes to the kitchen where I'm calling him from and sits by his bowl or goes into his crate and sits and looks at me)
Where's Sammy? (Sammy's our next door neighbor's Yellow Lab. He'll run to the door, stand up on his hind legs and try to open the door by scratching the door knob, or will do the same as "Who's that?" when outside)
Besito! ("Kiss" in spanish, if we're lucky he'll kiss us)
Shake! (Will do this mostly when we're holding a toy he wants)
Get your ball! (Gets his ball)
Get your bottle! (Gets his plastic bottle)
Get Puffy! (Gets his noise making, stuffed, plush 17" dragon)
Go to bed! (Goes to bed)
Go to your couch! (Goes to his couch)
Living room! (Goes to the living room)
Kitchen! (Goes to the kitchen)

Boxer Pal
She understands everything

We have a 4 yr female, Augusta, who does not believe she is is a dog. She understands the english language better than our 15 mo. son.
phases -
1."Where's the kitty cat?" pretty obvious but she can distinguish from
"Get your kitty", which is a stuffed animal.
2.Anything that ends in "walk", runs back and forth to the door, and she now knows which shoes are the walking shoes.
3."Wanna go for a ride" she will circle any and all cars in the drive way until a door is opened for her.
4."Get in the back" removing herself from the drivers seat to the back seat.
5."Go Potty", oh wait a minute that ones for the 15 mo. old.
