What type of crate to get: wire or plastic?

My wire crate has a release latch at the bottom to take the plate out, so she shouldn't be able to push it out on her own if she's throwing a fit in there. That's a reasonable concern though, so I think if there's anyone looking at purchasing a wire crate, they should make sure that it has a latch. It would not be fun to come home and find a mess on the carpet where the plate should be or even no carpet it all... .

we've used both kinds and Sidney liked the wire crate better. SHe never uses it anymore, but when our new arrival gets here next week we'll use a wire crate for him too.

I use a wire (plastic coated wire) crate for Tess. She likes being able to see out and I like that it can be covered when she's not in it and disguised as a piece of furniture instead of an ugly black crate!

Definitely go with wire if your dog has Seperation Anxiety. I've heard escape stories w/ plastic crates...some of which didn't end very well. :(
