I'm not to sure what would be the best colour to show in?
I dont want to clash or look obvious in what i wear and i'd like my outfit to compliment my red & white girl & brindle & white boy, could anybody help me please? Thank you very much.
Also keep in mind i am only 19........still a teenager and very concerned about looks.

I love black...it is slimming and depending on the outfit can be classy/sophisticated too!
Then just accessorize with a simple necklace/earrings. I don't show - but I wouldn't think you want to stand out - it is the dog. So I wouldn't think that you would want to be too noticeable! (No pink/yellow/green stripey outfits for spring ;) )
Just an idea!

You want to wear something that will make your dog stand out. Due to your red girl, I'd stay away from shades of red (although if I found a nice "to die for" skirt suit, I'd probably get it anyway. ). Depending on the amount of striping your brindle boy has, you may want to stay away from black. My boy isn't heavily brindled but he does tend to blend in with a black background.

You may want to try darker shades of blue or green (although I don't think my boy stands out well with a navy blue back ground). Light greys and maybe pale pinks and creams. I don't think any of these colors will make you stand out over the dog while at the same time would work well as a back ground color for your dogs (when picking show clothes that's what you should be doing, picking the best background color for your dog/s).

I do try to stay away from patterns on the bottom (even lightly patterned) due to my boy being brindle. Although this can be hard to do while trying to get a variety of outfits for showing...I do have a black skirt covered with gold line drawn flowers. Not the best back ground for my boy but is a nice skirt and was CHEAP on sale!! And the one time I have worn it I kneeled behind the dog more than stood (when not moving of course! :p ) so that my top half was the background more than the bottom half.

I stay away from all jewelry; most is flashy and tends to catch the eye (imo anyway, but I'm not a jewelry person so it may catch *my* eye more than others...).

Also keep in mind i am only 19........still a teenager and very concerned about looks.

Although I'm not 19, I'm quite picky on what I wear and how I look. I've not had a hard time finding show clothes I can tolerate...it's the freakin' shoes that have given me all the trouble!! Finding a nice pair of shoes that I feel like I can actually go out in public with, can run in and will work with skirts (I never wear pants to show) is NOT easy!! I finally found a pair I can live with...although far from my ideal look, they're not bad, are ok with skirts/dresses and are amazingly comfortable and non-slipping! I am a shoe person though and *always* have an eye out for a nice pair (for show or not). ;)

My only word of caution about black would be - how dark is your brindle boxer, because you don't want the colors that you are wearing to blend in with the dog so that the judge can't see where you end and the dog starts. I have seen some handlers wearing black and showing dark brindles and it doesn't look very good - because you can't see the dog very well.

My girl that i was showing was fawn, and so a black outfit looked pretty good. So did brown.

Any color should work as long as you can hold it up behind your dog and it looks good, the dog doesn't blend into it, and it is not too busy.

Good luck!

Keep in mind, though, that if the dog has a bad topline, you really don't mind if it blends in with the handler's clothes. Some of those handlers are savvier than you might think. ;)

I to am having a difficult time decideing on what to wear. This will be the first time i've shown Jakin, we will be showing in the rally competion here in a few weeks. Does it work the same way for the rally ring? Do you wear the same thing that someone would wear in the conformation ring? Jakins color is a red brindle, i wonder if that makes sence? He has more red fawn then brindle, his strips are pretty spead out. So would black work with him. If so should one wear like a white blouse, or is a blouse to much? Showing is new to me, i've been to a couple of shows but never entered in them. I want to make Jakin look good, since this is our first time. Thanks for any help. :)

I think Rally would be much more casual. The dog isn't judged with you as the background, so color is really not an issue - though complimentary colors may send subconscious vibes! ;) I'd still stay away from garish clothes - you don't want to shift focus from the dog entirely. I would suggest wearing something comfortable, since Rally is somewhat of an "unknown" until shortly before you go into the ring, you want to be able to concentrate on your course and not worry about your clothes. :)
