Griffin had been licking his front left paw like a madman last night so I checked it out. He has a very very minor cut on the pad. But it's not the part of the pad that would hit the ground, it's the part on the inside that butts up against his toes.

Is it enough to check it a few times a day to make sure it's healing, and to clean it? Or, should I apply something to it and bandage it, to make sure he doesn't mess with it anymore?

Also, is rubbing alcohol ok to use to clean it? Thanks!!

Rubbing alcohol would really sting!! I wouldn't use that!

Just use soap and water and be sure it stay clean. If you put anything on odds are he will try to lick it off. My dogs think antibiotic ointment is candy. If you have some betadine, you might use a q tip and swab a little on.
Keep an eye on it, and see how it does. If you need to keep him from licking you may need to get an elizabethean collar to keep him away from it, and it is really hard to keep them from a front paw.

I agree...but as long as you keep it clean and check it, it should get better relatively quickly. Good Luck.
