What kind of treats do you give your puppy?

Kashmir loves cheese... i cut it into tiny cubes for her. Also I have a bag of Innova puppy so I use that too. A friend of mine gave me some dehydrated beef liver that she made herself but Kash is missing a lot of teeth so that's pretty hard for her right now. I find cheese is working best for my teething puppy... also I'll give her little bits of cooked chicken when I have some left over. Some people use hot dog sausages too.

old mother hubbard

I would like to get an opinion on the Old Mother Hubbard brand dog treats. Are these healthy for my puppy? I was given one of their p-nuttier treats at the pet store for her to try and she really liked it...tried to get more out of the box. I refuse to buy her the treats like snausages or (the ones my skin kids really want to get her) Scooby-Snacks...I'm also going to try a recipe I printed from BW this weekend. Thanks!

Recently we also found a treat (I can't remember the name) that it is just dried fish, no other ingredients.

Btw, 100% freeze dried liver has probably been Wilson's favorite treat so far.

I got it at rotten Petland... I am embarrassed I bought anything from there because they sell puppies and all kinds of poor creatures, but it was an emergency. I can't remember the name, but if I am near there I will drop in and get a brand name at least. Willis loved that stuff!!!

As for the Old Mother Hubbard treats, we have fed Willis those for a while, and I recenty found out that they are made by the same people who make Wellness, which is a very good food! We are happy with them and so is puppy :D .

Unfortunately Wilson doesn't like hard biscuit treats, so I have a big box of Old Mother Hubbard treats set aside :( I am going to bring them to my vet so they can give them to other dogs. No point wasting them! I loved the ingredients though, so I would recommend them, even if Wilson didn't care for them much!

I have expanded the treat repetoire since I last posted -

I found some Bil-Jac liver training treats that are just bite-sized and they really like them. I use them as a reward when Holly goes in her crate (which she doesn't really like going in there that much.) Also, I give my two Bil-Jac dog biscuits, an occasional "bully stix," freeze-dried chicken meat, and lamb ears. For obedience class for Scrapper, I use cut-up hot dogs, because I can get about 20 slices out of one dog and he really loves them.

my vet gets these treats.. i BELIEVE she said they were licorice treats.. or something like that. Theyre a dark brown/ black color and theyre flat and you can break [ieces off.
