What kind of lump is a bad lump?

Over the weekend, I noticed Apollo scratching at his ears. They were a little red so we cleaned them out and that was when I noticed the little lump/bump. It's not very large, almost on the tip of his ear, and doesn't seem to bother him (although he doesn't like me to look or touch it!) It's about the size of a pimple, little bigger I suppose. I just don't know what to do. It's hard too.

Also, I've noticed that he licks his chops alot!! I decided to look at his gums and noticed a 'spot' right where his lip lays over his large incisor. I've checked it over the last week and it hasn't gotten worse or better. Is that something to really be worried about?

I am going to make an appointment for later this week for everything to be checked out, but was wondering if this is something that I'm just fretting over or if it's something terribly wrong!!

My last boxer used to get lumps on his ears and it was from him shaking his head or flapping his ears. The vet said that if they flap them hard enough they will pop blood vessels and that causes the lump. The only thing about his lumps is that they were bigger than a pimple, they were almost like a balloon and they would come up overnight. I hope this is your problem because it's not that bad (not that I know of, I'm no expert).

Ogie Jakob an JJ all get these little bumps, on there ears. yes they look like a pimple but DO NOT pop it, it will go away in time. it is pop blood vessels from shaking too hard. they dont hurt, an they dont bug the dog just looks funny.
