Zeus seems to be shedding so much lately, just pet him and you get a handful it seems. I've been using one of those rubber brushes on Zeus, but he really doesn't like it very much. Does anyone have any suggestions on something else to use? I try to brush him a little everyday, for as long as he'll put up with it:rolleyes: 1 or 2 strokes then he just wants to eat the brushsmashicon Any suggestions?

I use the rubber glove styled brush with the little nubbies on it. I purchase them each year at the dogshow, haven't yet tried the ones in the stores so I am not sure if they work the same or not. Kailee is just plain not a grooming addict, so I usually have to catch her on the fly. I have found that these style of brushes are very effective in removing the loose hair, and bringing out the natural oils to produce a shiney coat. Plus, because it is a glove, the dog gets the impression they are being pet, and massaged at the same time ;)
When my male was a pup, I tried almost every brush on the market, but nothing seemed to work well. Finally at the first dogshow we went to a breeder directed me to this style.

I've seen those glove brushes at petsmart and I think I'll pick one up today and give it a try. Hopefully that will work better.

another vote for the "Love Glove"...yes, that's really what they decided to call the one I bought. I usually use it at night when he is winding down so that he'll lay still and not think it's another chew toy.

ROFLMAO

I bought mine from my local boxer rescue and it's a rubber brush that fits on your hand like a horse brush. She buys a bunch of them at the dog shows and mine love it! I'll have to look into the "love glove" though, I bet Lexi would much prefer that!

Hi
Those rubber hand grooming gloves are brilliant. Babe wiggles about - I have found that if I groom her with one hand - you get adapt at it and hold something like a pigs ear/hard crunchy chew with the other for her to gnaw at, we groom quite successfully. She sees the grooming aid and "know" it is also treat time!
