What do your babies do when you scold them?

When she's been naughty, we'll say, "BIN-DI! What is THAT?!" and point to whatever she's been into. Bindi will slink over to us, crouched down, little nubby going for all it's worth. She won't look us in the eye, but she'll steal little quick glances up at us to make sure we see how very sorry she is, and she'll turn in circles around our legs. After just a few seconds, she'll have herself worked into a full fledged case of the wiggles, kidney beaning away, still stealing little looks at us to see if she's forgiven yet. As soon as she sees one of us crack a smile, which of course doesn't take long, she's ready to smother us with kisses.

When Samson has done something wrong, we don't even have to scold him - he gives himself away every time. He'll go slinking away, with his ears back and his head low. If I go on to scold him, he will stare at me, slowly wag his nub to see what reaction he gets, and when I smile - he is overwhelmed with joy. He will woo and kidney bean like crazy. :)

Hannah will immediately drop to the floor and roll over on her back if she thinks she is in trouble. I think somebody abused her (or at least yelled at her a lot) before we adopted her from the shelter. She is very submissive and gets scared easily when you raise your voice.

When Atlas has something he is not suppose to have he will go hide under the dinning room table. So if we see him under the table we have to go look inside his mouth because we know he has something bad in his mouth. When you talk to him in a stern voice he will lower his head and usually go pout somewhere. He will also give you those sad eyes look. Then you melt of course. lovicon

It kind of depends on what she has done but usually we will just use a low voiced growl" Freya, what are you doing" If she is just chewing on something or trying to destroy the couch or biting Monster when he doesn't want to play or any of the usual stuff she will kind of look at us to see how mad we are and then if we seem happy she talks back with barks and snorts. If we seem like we really want her to quit she drops her head and peeks at you and snorts. If she has done something really bad like potty indoors, we don't see her she has given herself a time out and is usually waiting at the back door. We definatly know if she has done it though because she won't go into the room until it is cleaned up. But hey, that hasn't happened in like three weeks and the time before that she went a couple of weeks without an accident. Maybe she is finally house-trained and it only took eight months:)

If I have to tell Lily off ill say in a mean voice "Lily thats NAUGHTY!" and she will slink away. Her chest is almost touching the floor when she does it  She runs right to her bed and lies there staring at me. Afterwards ill call her to me and she will sit and give me her paw without me having to ask :) Then the kidney beans start :D

No!

I am so impressed with Tyalor. We have had her for one week tomorrow and all I have to say is "Taylor, NO!" and she just drops whatever it is she is chewing on..or doing and just lowers her little head. Yesterday I got mad at her because she snuck into the house when my 3 year old daughter tried to go out back. She loves to frolic in our (too) wet grass and was wet and muddy. I had to catch her three times becuase she would slip right back in before I could get the door shut. She wanted in so bad, so I decided to grab a towel and dry her off and when I came out to do it, she looked so sad because she had gotten scolded. She is just 16 weeks, but seems to understand so much already. Smart dog.
