It looks average to me. Pretty much on a par with Nutro, and actually not a lot different (I find the food ingredients on another of their sites, linked from that one). Here is the ingredient list for the "Adult Bites" formula:

INGREDIENTS: TURKEY MEAL, GROUND RICE, CORN MEAL, OATMEAL, BEET PULP, CHICKEN MEAL, POULTRY FAT (TURKEY AND CHICKEN FAT, NATURALLY PRESERVED WITH MIXED TOCOPHEROLS), NATURAL FLAVORS, BREWERS YEAST, LECTHIN CALCIUM CARBONATE, SEA SALT, FISH OIL, POTASSUIM CHLORIDE, L-LYSINE (ESSENTIAL AMINO ACID), DL-METHIONNE (ESSENTIAL AMINO ACID), CHOLINE CHLORIDE, VITAMIN C, IRON SULFATE, AND VATAMIN E SUPPLEMENT. VITAMINE & MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS: ZINC OXIDE, ZINC PROTEINATE, IRON PROTEINATE, CITRIC ACID (PRESERVATIVE), MANGANSE OXIDE, MANGANESE PROTEINATE, VITAMIN A SUPPLEMENT, NIACIN SUPPLEMENT, PANTOTHENIC ACID, RIBOFLAVIN SUPPLEMENT (VITAMIN B2), COPPER PROTEINATE, COPPER SULFATE, THIAMINE MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), VITAMIN D3 SUPPLEMENT, MENADIONE DIMETHYLPRIMIDINOL BISULFITE (SOURCE OF VITAMIN K ACTIVITY), FOLIC ACID, BIOTIN SUPPLEMENT, CALCIUM IODATE (SOURCE OF IODINE), SODIUM SELENITE (SOURCE OF SELENIUM), VITAMIN B12 SUPPLEMENT.
CRUDE PROTEIN - NOT LESS THAN 22%
CRUDE FAT - NOT LESS THAN 13%
CRUDE FIBER - NOT MORE THE 4%
MOISTURE - NOT MORE THEN 10%

Anyway, overall it's not bad, but not fantastic either. It's average - and that means better than the majority of dry foods sold in this part of the world.

You can actually access some of the top brands though - if you're willing to mail order it. Several are available in Germany, and they'll ship it to you at pretty reasonable cost. Here is one site that I can recall offhand where you can get either Canidae or Nature's Variety Prairie (including the Raw Instinct formula, which is fantastic for adult dogs): www.catscountry.de There are a couple of other German sites also, and at least one that carries Timberwolf Organics (think that's at www.zooplus.de ).

In short, that food isn't bad. There are a few unfortunate ingredients there, but at least no chemical preservatives. You can access better though, if you care to order it online and have it delivered.

Yes, the Regal food has some unpleasant ingredients like corn meal and beet pulp, so I would personally stay away from it (also, Nutro is average quality at best). I wouldn't be aware of what is available in Italy, but Europe is a fairly cosmopolitan place and I suspect you should be able to order any of the quality foods on-line. I would stick with Solid Gold, Timberwolf Organics, Innova, Natural Balance and the like, to ensure your dog gets quality foods.

thank you for your answers..I didn't see this post until now so I wrote another one...sorry!
Anyway...I have another questions: nutro doesn't say that its ingredients are ogm free, But Regal do!
Second, Nutro use eggs, Regal not...are eggs heavy for the liver? My dog is affect by leishmania, even he doesn't have any problem til now.
It's difficult for me to order in Germany, for a lot of reasons, that's why I have to choose the best in Italy...

Eggs in moderation are generally a good thing. But Nutro is using egg product, rather than whole eggs, so I wouldn't be attracted by the presence of that ingredient ;) And if your dog has any special dietary needs that mean you'd prefer to avoid eggs altogether, then that certainly favours Regal.

so, I looked for the ingredients of Regal, and the corn meal and beet pulp are not present in "Salmon" formula...unfortunetly I cannot find them on regal pet food, but seems to me much better than "adult bites" formula...what do you think about it?
