What color eyes?

I read in a book that the prefrence for eye color is a deep dark brown. Cassius has these deep dark eyes, infact you can't see any white around the brown part unless he gives us the side eye look. I haven't seen a boxer with light eyes yet? Do any of you out there have a boxer with light eyes? And what about the white ones?? I have seen a picture of a white with blue eyes, is this considered albino? Just Curious?

I puppy sat a female boxer with very light eyes... Bella's eyes are very dark with very little white around them. This pup had sand colored eyes, it was pretty but kind of strange at the same time. She always looked mad. I think the different colors add to their expressiveness.

my 2 have VERY dark beautiful eyes. :D There is a pic of Cassius on his page (on our site) where you cannot even see his eyes because they blend-in w/ his dark mask. I love their expressive eyes.. its so hard to say no to them! (and don't they know it :rolleyes: )

Titan's eyes look like dark-chocolate. His one eye has a lot of red around it at times ( the vet asst. said it's when he's tired or stressed--poor baby). I love those dark brown eyes- I could get lost staring into them, they're so beautiful.

I have an 8.5 month old flashy fawn female who has the dark chocolate brown eyes, they disappear in her black mask. My white male, Otis, however, has light golden brown eyes. I find them both very pretty!

Hercules has very light brown eyes, they almost match his coat. I don't think any of his pics are clear enough to show how light they are...but that was something that drew us to him as a pup.

Yes, dark eyes and pigmented haws are much prefered.

Blue eyes on a white boxer are due to lack of pigmentation - same as the white coat "colour" itself. It is not albinoism though. An albino has *no* pigmentation, whereas white boxers still have some pigment - in the eyes (brown or blue - blue is lack of pigment, but if there was no pigment the eyes would be pink) and the nose (black), any patches of fawn or brindle, and in the skin pigment 'spots' so commonly seen on whites (and on the white parts of flashy dogs).
It is conceivable that a boxer could be albino - but it would have pink eyes, a pink nose, and no pigment spots at all. I've never seen or heard of one, but it is technically possible for one to exist (as it is in any breed).
