There is a gorilla at Petsmart that makes gorilla noises when you squeeze it that I thought would be a new fun toy. I also was going to get my dogs thier own dog pillow cuz everytime a couch pillow falls to the floor they have to lay on it but then I thought cuz of the shape of the dog ones that they might think that it's a new toy instead so I'm now thinking no pillow. I also already bought a 'bad cuz' that I've been reading about for a x-mas gift but I couldn't wait so I gave it to them already. I won't be doing anymore shopping for them until the last minute otherwise they get them too early.

A few weeks ago Ross Department store had a tower of doggie treats for $10! I picked one up. I've also been looking at this hard rubber ball that has a handle on it; ones like they give to horses to play with. Unfortunately, all stuffed animals are out of the question because they seem to be destroyed in a matter of minutes. I hate that too. I even bought this little gingerman toy by the Bamboo company that stays "Guaranteed Indestructable." Yeah right, Sophie (the cocker) had the things arm chewed off in 10 minutes. I've also got to stay clear of hard latex toys because they are chewed to pieces. Balls are pretty safe at my house. Sophie LOVES the soft latex balls. Ropes also do fairly well. If anyone has good suggestions for plush toys that stand a pretty good chance at my house, please post them in your post. Thanks!

Sherri---I dont have any good suggestions for plush toys seeing as Titan rips heads, ears, arms, legs etc. off within 24 hrs usually. I have found that toys with voice boxes are quickest to go though and squeekers are next. So I try to eliminate those for sure. The only toys he has that still have all their body parts are these AKC mallard, squirrel and rabbit he has from PetSmart- for some reason he doesn't try to rip them up. I try to buy plush toys with ropes or balls attached to them to try to distract him a bit, just a thought. I've bought the "indestructible" toys before too and they dont seem to make a difference.

Of course if your dog is good at destroying stuff I wouldn't recommend it cause Wilson isn't a huge chewer, nor is he very destructive, but he had a hole in it within a day or two. There is also another really cool xmas toy that is basically like one of those dumbell shaped wiggly giggly toys. It's the same only it's red with snow flakes. When you shake it and throw it around it makes the funniest sound and Wilson really likes it! It only cost me $5, compared to the $10 or $11 original wiggly giggly, and it's basically the same thing!! HERE is a picture of it
Love the toys--here in N.Z. the giggler ones are called chuckle balls. Haven't seen them in the bone shape yet and certainly not dolled up for Christmas. You guys seem to have the best stuff for your dogs! We had two chuckle balls-one got buried with Stella 'coz it was her favourite, and my daughters' black lab chewed the other one until it broke. That'd be a good pressie for Cinda.
I would suggest the following toys for destructive chewers:
The Orka Jack and dental health knot from Petstages.com. We were selected for product testing and received these in May of last year and our 20 month old boy Max loves these and they are still in like new shape.
Also, bought a bow lingual for him (us) had to try it as it was on clearance for 19.99 at Petco.

I refuse to buy these plush toys now. They are a complete waste of time and money.
So far Buster has had for his christmas stocking a new nyla bone (which he adores and would not be with out) one of those big biscuits that thinks its a bone and some squeeky toys.
I find the squeeky toys great as they are very cheap and some can give a good few hours worth of play.
But I do have to say those nyla bones are great every time.
I wouldalso like to get him a new Kong I bought him one b4 but it was not an origional kong. It cost the same but did not last...big mistake on my part.

Rocky too finds joy in destoying stuffed toys. He removes ears, tails, etc and then guts the stuffing out. This all takes about 8 minutes and when you have paid $6-$10 per item it is a complete waste. I have started buying stuffed toys at rummage sales for him. I am careful to make sure they are "baby" safe with out any parts he could choke on. He still gets the joy of destoying them at about 25 cents each.
