Normal?

I have two young boxer pups, they were born in sept, and when they sleep on the couch they do the same thing. I called my mom and the vet and they both said that its normal. They said it has to do with how asleep they are, and usually occures while dreaming.

I'd also suggest a trip to the vet. Jasmine is about 21 months and she did the same thing last month. To her defense she was spayed that day and I think she was just so drugged-up that she didn't even realize she had done it. It was a brand new dog bed too, oh well I couldn't blame her.

Dodge did that once when he was a couple of months old. Only he was laying on me!!! He never did it again. I would keep a close eye on him, and if it continues to happen go to the vet. Or if it makes you feel better, call the vet and see what they say.

Sirus has done this twice. Once on the couch (which really sucked!) and once while we were asleep in bed. The poor guy looked so confused and sorry! I felt so bad for him. I think the reason this happend was because of how pooped out he was. He had had long days those days...and was just knocked out. I figure since it's only happend twice in two years...nothing to worry about. Really is just like havin' a lil kid in the house.

I am not sure if boy dogs can have the same issue but our baby Aspen (female) has/had the same problem. We had her checked for UTI, she was fine. What it was was that she had a weak Sphinkter (SP?) She took two types of medicine, one of which was an over the counter bladder control vitamin type the other I can't remember but after she finished her meds she hasn't wet herself since.

Layla did this once too. She had a playdate with her bestest dog friend and had drank a lot and then crashed. It freaked me out to find a wet spot in the bed at 3:00 in the morning, but after taking her to the vet the next day and after some investigation here on BW, I found out that it does happen sometimes. Thankfully it hasn't happened since.
