My husband and I have had our Rocko now for a year. He is our first dog and we have a funny question about his "Family Jewles".
I feel silly even asking but here it goes...Do dogs have "wet dreams"?
Rocko is a year old, unaltered male. He is perfectly healthy and happy, but when he sleeps he always leaves a little yellow spot on the bed. I am assuming this is part of puberty, but not 100% certain. His "Red Rocket" is not swollen or inflamed and looks very normal. So is it normal for him to have this yellow-cloudy...stuff...comeing out? It is not puss...but looks similar and it is just a little thicker then water.
Am I just the new crazy mom that dosen't know what everyone else does? Is my little "Rock Star" okay and just going through puberty...or should we take him to the vet?
Thanks for your advice!! ;-)

We had an older boxer years ago that "dripped" the yellow discharge you are talking about. The vet checked his prostrate and after testing, determined he had prostrate cancer. Poor ole guy...had to be neutered when he was 10 years old. Now, I am not saying your dog has prostrate cancer by any means, but having his prostrate checked out may not be a bad idea if nothing else shows up. It could just be he is going through puberty like you said. Neutering him will take care of alot of those unwanted problems. We were "young and dumb" many years ago not to neuter our dog. It probably would have prevented his cancer down the road. Maybe other members have had more experience in this. I'm just throwing a prostrate check out there....Keep us informed on what you find out.

My first Boxer had this and he was neutered and it went on his entire life, was checked by more than one vet and I was told it's completely normal by them all. So I don't think it has anything to do with puberty or being intact, just certain boys. But I do agree getting him neutered should be on the list of things to do soon.
