Wellness 95% Meat - canned dog food

I was just looking at the www.omhpet.com and noticed that Wellness has a new line of canned dog food. 95% Meat - either venison, chicken or beef.
It says on the website "Wellness 95% Canned Recipes are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only". Why would they state that?
is it only intended to be mixed in with kibble? I'm confused.
I liked when i read this though: Wellness® uses ethoxyquin-free protein sources.
anyone feeding this food to their boxers? any opinions?

I use the Wellness 95% canned Venison mixed along with the Natural Balance dry in the Venison and Brown Rice flavor. Bridget absolutely loves this food. It is her favorite.
I rotate the Wellness with Merrick's Venison Holiday Stew or Canine Caviar's Venison Tripe for variety with her dry kibble.
I also noticed that this food should be fed only as a topper to dry and should not be fed alone.The label on the Canine Caviar also states the same. I am not sure why that is.
Bridget tends to get a red sunburn type rash on her belly and I am using the single protein source to try and figure out if it is a food allergy that causes it.

I'm not sure, but my guess is that this canned food doesn't really supply everything that a dog needs (like vitamins and stuff). I don't use it and I've never looked at the ingredients, but that's just the first thing that came to mind. Like if you cook your dog's meals, you have to be sure it's balanced.

Splash eats the Wellness Super Mix kibble along with the canned chicken and turkey/sweet potato, and he is doing great. He has a nice shiny coat and before he had some discoloration in his nails, and I swear it is almost gone because we switched food. He has a sensitive tummy when it comes to wheat and the Wellness doesn't have any wheat in it, so his poops are nice and normal. I have heard that dogs either do very well on Wellness or it doesn't agree with them at all. But we are pleased with his response to it! I recommend giving it a try.

None of the meat ONLY canned foods are intended to be used as a stand alone diet (Wysong, Abady, Evangers, etc) because they do not contain the vitamin/mineral premix that their other forumlas do. Also keep in mind that if you were feeding raw or cooking for your dog, you would not feed meat and organs exclusively. You would include raw bones or bonemeal, a multivitamin/mineral, supplements, varied protein sources when possible, and maybe some fish, tripe or some optional grain or vegetable matter.

But these canned meats are certainly an EXCELLENT, healthful addition to a carb heavy dry food diet.

I feed breakfast and dinner to Cami. She is eating Solid Gold's Barking at the Moon kibble (grain free) and she gets some of the Wellness 95% meat (rotating flavors) added to her evening meals with warm water. I make a sort of "gravy" with it. She loves it.
This latest combo has been THE BEST thing for her food wise. We have tried many different combos due to her many health issues. Grain free-low carb for the cancer. High meat proteins (both foods) for her Taurine deficiencies/heart arrythmias and so far they are also helping with allergies.

i feel 95% wellness meat is just useful as a topper on dry kibble. It is a handy alternative if you don't have time to prepare your own home cooked meals for your dog. Molly loves to have them as a special treat along with her kibble. But it can be pretty pricey in my area, so we kind of prefer eagle pack holistic or merrick along with her kibble since they are nutritionally balanced as well .
