Our youngest Boxer, Destiny, is a unique little soul to say the least. My kids have nick named her pirrahna. She nips as she plays.

The question I have about her, is that when you call her, she gets so excited bends her body into a U shape. She literally brings her tail to her face and walks sideways to you with the upmost excitement. It is really strange. Does anyone else have a boxer who does that? Neither one of our other two have ever done that.

The only thing I can think of, is that the breeder docked her tail to late. Also, her tail is longer than other boxers. I think they did it themselves rather than a vet. When we first got her in Jan. it looked as if it was in the final stages of healing. She was 8 weeks old at the time.

I am mostly clueless when it comes to dogs for the most part. I didn't really like dogs until we brought Jazzy home. Boxers are the only breed for me, they fit our house like a glove. They wiggled their way right into my heart. That is why I have so many questions and so few answers for anyone else. This board has been a huge blessing!

That is very common in boxers-call it the "kidney bean" dance. My boy is almost eighty pounds and over five years old and still does it :) As for the nipping that too is normal and if you search the threads here you will find guidance on how to manage it and help your pup develop bite inhibition-a job his Mom started and you should help with as well. As for the tail-depends on who docks them-some are long, some are nubs :)

Well that is good to know :o) "kidney bean" dance really does describe it quite accurately! It is very cute....... I was just curious about the whole thing. She makes people laugh when they visit and she does that the whole way to them.
Thankyou!

Dizzy does it, George did it too, I think Jack might get there eventually, being a rescue I'm not sure he's had enough joy to wiggle that good yet. He kind of talked for the first time today. We actually call Dizzy - woo woo - she talks so much wooo.

Maggie (9 yrs) does the kidney bean to this day. Dakota (12 weeks) just started doing it this week - it's so great to see them do it!
