Weird behavior after spay

We just had our little girl spayed, and after she recuperated from the anesthesia, she started behaving a little strangely. She never really cared about her toys before. But she has recently begun hoarding all her toys into her bed and crying if any one of the squeaks! She is especially fond of a stuffed duck that quacks, and she used to attack it - but now she only "loves" on it. This includes carrying it from room to room and licking its feet. She sleeps with the duck every night. However, she is visually uncomfortable and cries when the toy squeaks!

I'm wondering if this is a hormonal thing? She has had at least one litter (she's a pound puppy so we don't know for sure). Could she be cuddling with her toys like she would her pups? Is this just a coincidence with the spay?

Thanks so much for the info. My poor girl! I've scolded my husband for his treatment of her "babies". Fortunately, she is not guarding the toys and doesn't mind if we touch them. She does not like when I put them away though. She goes to the vet for a check up in a few days, so we will ask for any additional help. I imagine it is just a phase and that she will get over it, right?
