I'm very sorry to hear about Weiley but glad to hear he's getting better.
Regarding the "cone," I'm assuming you mean the Elizabethan collar? I hate those things and I know the dogs hate them more. I also realize they're necessary in some cases.....but I still hate them!
Something that might make it a little easier for Weiley is if you shave down the collar so that it's not so big and he doesn't clang into everything in your house. A razor blade would work; then smooth out the rough edges. Again, I'm assuming this is what you meant when you said "cone."
Sometimes it seems those collars are so oversized that they affect the vision of the dogs and that seems to really aggravate them. It would aggravate me too!!
