Tara stopped wanting to eat after Moto died. :( Now I add a few tiny pieces of dried chicken stripes. It gets her started eating and then she finishes it no problem.

We moved twice in a few months - The first time it affected Rays diet, but the second he was fine....

What I did was cut his walks out or down, if he's not eating and walking he will lose more weight - wait until he has gotten in to a routine before long walks or runs.

Add some protein in to his diet, try adding things like veggies, pasta, raw mince, anything to bulk up the diet

As for leaving his food and getting distracted we take anything off of ray if he hasnt eaten it within 10-15 minutes, that means he begins to get usesd to having to eat or it will get removed, it forces him to stop being so picky because before if Ray didnt eat his beanies i'd give in and give him something super tasty that he'd love (Tuna) so he began just waiting it out knowing id give in. When i stopped giving in he eventually realized that if he didnt eat it he wouldnt get it...:D

I feed ray as often as he is hungry, 7am he will get two eggs boiled and kibble, 10am kibble, 12/2pm raw chicken mince, beef mince or tripe with spinach and garlic and kibble, 6/7pm or whenever he's hungry at night he will eat away at kibble.

Try boiling some chicken breasts, when Ray was ill as a small pup that was the first thing he ate and he devoured it! Just two chicken breasts boiled and cut up into chunks will give him his appetite back!

good luck!

Ill try feeding another cup of food during lunch time, but i doubt he will touch it. As of now he has only eaten half his breakfast and i served him at 7:00am.

Besides peanut butter is there anything i can add to his food to make it more like a treat?
I know i have seen yogurt mention a couple times here on BW, or what about egg?

I do try giving him his kibble when he does his commands but after he realizes that its just a handfull of kibble he will let the kribble drop from his mouth.

Yes eggs are fine, we give ray eggs every morning they are a brilliant source of protein - we eaither boil them or scramble them with goats milk as dogs cant digest normal milk properly - he will also devour - as a treat - rice pudding!

Thanks for the tips.
Once again this morning he didn't eat. I put his food out at 7:20ish but all he wanted to do was sleep. Then at around 11:00ish he drank alot of water, ate about a cup of food then vomitted alittle bit of it back up. He must have thought i would be upset cause when i got up to clean the mess he rushed off to his bed, not wanting to finish his meal. I took him home during my lunch break so he can get some rest, while there i put out some kibble with bacon strips but he only ate about a cup of it.

I think it is just me working him to much.
We went to the dog park yesterday from 4:40-6:20 he was having a blast with other dogs wrestling pretty hard. Then to my grandmothers where he waited in the patio for about an hour. After that we went to my girlfriends where he was outside with 5 other dogs (family visting with pets) but he was mostly waiting at the door like "hey let me in". When we got home he jumped straight into my bed and hid under the pillow hoping i wouldn't see him. I opened the food bucket and he came rushing to eat, he ate the 2 cups pretty fast. Then it was a quick shower (wrestling with dogs over a puddle) then off to bed he went.

May I suggest not mixing the raw meats with his kibble? Each are digested at different rates - kibble digests slower. When you mix the two, the raw meat will sit longer in the tummy, giving it a great breeding ground for bacteria. Which could be an issue of upset tummy.

Feed the kibble seperately and not within 4 hrs of the raw meat. You can do a raw breakfast and then mid-day feed the kibble and vegies. You can add a raw egg to either meal, but only a cooked egg with the kibble since it will digest slower.

Just a thought. Could be an upset tummy from bacteria. How's the poops? Are they soft or firm? After a mixed meal, does the tummy gurgle enough that you can hear it loudly?

See if his appetite is better with the raw and kibble seperated in different meals.

I would watch how much bacon you give him. Way too much sodium with bacon and lots of fat. I would try boiled up chicken or turkey and an egg here and there. You really shouldn't feed an egg every day. There is some threads here on BW about feeding eggs you could look up. While you could create a picky eater, you could get some quality canned food and add a spoonful to one of his meals.

I do agree you need to have a set schedule for feedings. Boxers very easily get "Boxer Belly" when not feed at regular times or once a day feeders. Stomach gets acidy and then they don't like to eat because they don't feel good and then usually that will carry over into the next day. Been there and done that with my previous boxer.

I know when I have Leah on the go too much her eating will suffer, which in turn, makes for a couple of unhappy days.

What dog food are you feeding? Not sure if you mentioned that or not. Maybe he doesn't like it.

Good luck :)
