Hello All, Could do with some advice on the art of crate use. We thought we had the hang of it but molly has other ideas. She is so so sooooooo hard to get into the crate all forms of bribary are failing and we have to physically lift her in which none of us enjoy. Once in she bangs against the crate with her paws and seems really distressed which makes me worry about her while I'm at work, she does not have to go into the crate often as we take her every where we can with us, I know this probably adds to the problem as she must think she should be with us all the time, any ideas ??

Play games such as fetch with the crate open. Have her go in and come out without the door being closed. Have her go in and sit/stay and don't close the door. Work her so that she goes in readily and doesn't think that every single time you want her to go in the crate you are leaving. Your signals are very clear to her that you are leaving and she has associated being put in the crate with you leaving.
