Does anyone recommend a heavy duty crate. Here's the problem, my eighty pound deaf boxer Archie is a brute and has managed to once again break out of another crate. He currently had a vari-kennel style crate but I need an indestructable, Archie proof cage. He's usual method of escape is to ram the bars until the posts give way or the plastic hole breaks and then he is out wreaking havoc on the house. Please any suggestions would be great. thanks

If he pushes until the plastic give in I think a suggestion would be to try an all metal crate where the lock is attached to metal not plastic.

heavy duty cages

we have had a metal crate in the past, but he distorted and bent the bars on the lock so badly it was unusable. my other concern with metal is that he had broken two canine teeth in the past and the root canals cost $850.00 each time. he only has two canines left and i can't afford more dental care. also, if we ever travel by plane, i can't use metal to fly, can I? in the past we have used plastic kennel to fly. anyway, i'm just at my end of how to keep him contained. he damages the house and i worry that he will eat something to make him sick .
i just don't understand seeing as he loves his crate and is always eager to go on it. he also sleeps in it during the day when it is open. if anyone can recommend a brand or name of a crate that would be great. thanks

Have you tryed the Petmate PetPorter. My Simba tryed it once or twice and he is 78 Pounds but so far it held and I think he gave up. Maby it is worth a try. Good luck:)

I would stay away from the Petmate crate that collapses. I just recently heard of a dog getting her head stuck and she died. There is another post warning about Petmate crates as well.

Midwest has a great steel bar crate which is collapsible (and incredibly heavy), but has prevented our dog from escaping. Our dog hasn't been able to break the bars on this one, but has managed to squeeze out of the spacing where the sides meet. We've reinforced the sides with climbing carabiners. It's worked like a charm! We used three per side. Prior to this we went through one plastic crate, one wire crate, had our office destroyed, and built a taller fence (which Sampson can clear).

I can get you the model number if you want.
