Well Maddie thinks wheels are the most despicable thing on the planet! I got the baby carriage today for the first time around Maddie (usually she is in the yard and the carriage is in the driveway) and the girl went nuts trying to attack the carrige wheels! I took the kids to the school bus stop today and when we came back I wheeled the carriage into the yard and she latched onto the front wheel and the carriage almost went toppling over when she started to shake the thing! My poor son had no idea what to think! I have always heard about wheel biters but never actually witnessed one in action! ANyone else's boxer have fetish for round things that go?

Yes!! Beau loves to chase wheels!! From the garbage container, to my garden cart and the lawn mower--he grabs wheels!! I don't let him near the mower when it's running--I'm afraid he could get hurt!

He also tries to catch the vacuum cleaner, brooms, rake, etc.

I don't personally have tire-biters, but my brother did. "Boomer" started off like a kindergarten tire-biter, going after the lawnmower, bundle-buggies, bicycles, etc. Then he graduated to cars!! He lived in the country so basically had his freedom of the property. He started running off the property to chase cars. My brother and SIL starten to pen him, but one day he escaped and went after the garbage truck! This dog would actually bite onto the big lug-nut on the rim of the wheels!! Unfortuantely, he chased a truck up to the highway and was hit by a transport and killed. He is buried in my brothers yard and Boomers mate lays and cries over his grave almost daily. :(
So, not a good habit for them to get in to, but I'm not sure how you can curb it, except to say, and I'm positive you do, keep your dog safe in the yard. :)

Ohh thats so sad about Boomer! Thankfully we have a fence, and live on a dead end street so the only cars we get here are our own and the random lost person, But Maddie can't get to them anyway.
She does also go after the broom, mop and vaccuum as well! It's tough to do any house work anymore! (at least that's my excuse when I have company and a floor covered in dog fur, and a yard with grass that needs to be mowed desperately, lol!)

My father-in-law is not in great health and uses a motorized wheelchair. We bring Jesse to his house every Sunday for a playdate with his "cousins". Jesse sometimes loses his head and bites the rear wheels of the wheelchair as pop is trying to get around the house. Attacks the rear wheels is probably a better description than bites, lol. He jackhammers the floor and growls like he wants to kill it.

don't get her around a remote controlled car!! zeus flipped for one at the beach. he loved it. he'd run after it growling and nipping at the wheels, then when the car would turn on him and "run" after him, zeus would be running the other way around with this look on his face "mommeeeeeeee!!! don't let it get meeeeeee!"
then turn right back around and act all tough.

I have the same problem with Diesel!! However, he only goes after tires that are on something that makes noise. He constantly attacks the scooter wheels, lawnmower, power wheels Jeep, remote control cars, dirt bikes and quads!!! A few years ago he even ran down the street after the fedex truck biting at the wheels, luckily they were going very slow and he came back when I called him.
