we got a new baby

i posted yesterday about a 6 month old girl boxer the shelter in petsmart had and i wanted to get her but i thought better not anyway we called later and she had been adopted but they took our name and number. we got a call today and the lady brought her back because her husband did not want her.so we went and got her...she is great, the dogs got along in the store and they are getting along here yea!!!! she is already housebroke too.i feel so bad for her because she is sooo skinny you can see and feel her hip bones so we will fatten her up in no time..everybody thinks i am crazy because now i have 3 boxer babies but i dont care we will love them all.my daughter used her christmas money from grandparents to get her. so now she will have a good life and love and be loved by us....aint life great.....dora

Congrats on your new addition. It's hard seeing those poor babies at the shelter. I just recently seen on the internet a 2 1/2 year old male boxer at a shelter near me and I know that I can't have him but I want him so bad just so he can have a loving family, that's why I can't actually go to the shelter and see him because it would be too hard to leave without him. It helps to know that he's in a 'no kill shelter' though.

thanks all. i really wasnt planning on getting another baby right now but she is so cute and she was so scared in the cage.she is great all 3 babies are getting along so well.she is brindle so now i have 2 brindle babies.i named her breanna but i might change it nobody likes it or cant remember it..oh well...she gets along with cats to so thats good since i have 2.when i fed them earlier she acted like she was scared to go to the bowl and eat i had to get down and call her and tell her it was ok and feed her a few times out of my hand before she would eat, it was so sad..but she will be treated like the true baby she is now...dora

Sounds like she's starting to come around and adjust to her new home--just so much to get use to in a new place with so many other dog and people. I"m sure she'll do just fine. You truly are her Christmas Angel ( I dont know how to do the little pics, so just imagine the angel one here) this year!! Congrats!

That is wonderful that you were able to get her, it sounds like the first family really didn't deserve her. I like the name Breanna. The same thing happened with my baby, I named her Shakira and nobody in the family liked it and couldn't remember it, and I was asked to name her a "better" name, but I didn't because she was my baby and I liked the name and guess what, now everyone remembers her name and they like it so I am glad that I stayed strong on the name. Another name I liked was Shadreeka but my day care had problems with that one.

Congrats on the new addition! appicon How wonderful that you were able to rescue her from being caged up....I hate that the poor thing had to even go with the other lady! I like the name Breanna...but if no one can remember it how about "Autumn"? It kind of goes along with the season....and maybe some of her colors. Let us know what you end up deciding to call her!
