But informing and scaring people that may have already made the mistake or sometimes incident of their bitch being pregnant is not the way to go about that situation.

So we should just all condone their actions? I think not. The deed may already be done, but that doesn't mean that we should put on a happy face and say 'good for you.' Nothing about any of these recent posts about breeding is good, and the only reason people get upset is that they don't hear what they wanted to hear. They get the truth from people with decades of experience and they don't like it. So be it.

It seems that every day I log on to BW to find yet another post about a poor boxer who's about to have puppies and the owner is clueless as to what to do. Some don't even know enough to figure out when the puppies will come! Some don't even know the definitions of boxer colors! I'm sorry but I for one will never condone those actions by simply wishing a person good luck. Perhaps some of our so-called harsh and negative words will have some impact, even a teeny tiny bit, and these people won't do this again. People like Christina say the same thing over and over and over again, and it hardly ever makes a difference. :( But people like her love our breed so much that they still keep saying it, over and over and over and ...

i am by no means for this kind of breeding, but instead of telling them what they did wrong, why not help them get through this with the hopeful outcome of healthy puppies and mommy by offering advice..
One of the problems is that is not a simple case of "what is done is done". Think about it. Neither parent has been health tested. Neither parent has been to a Cardiologist. Neither parent has been hip tested or Thyroid tested. I never even heard Brucellosis mentioned.

If she is pregnant and she has pups, and if she survives it all - those pups are huge genetic question marks. They carry the DNA of untested parents from possibly completely pet bred pedigrees. They could be ticking time bombs of genetic issues.

This is something this breeder, and others like them, not to mention possible puppy buyers have to understand. Nothing about this situation is ideal and sadly, it could have been totally avoided.
