I have been working in some areas with Hercules such has pulling and jumping on people...and it seems to be working! appicon ....I have followed Dan's advice on pulling....when the dog pulls...simply stop, we've been going on longer walks, and to places Herkie has never walked before...well, when we go to a new place he likes to pull like crazy. So I have started keeping the leash & him by my side, and when he pulls...I stop walking....and it's working! appicon....Also, I have noticed that when Herkie jumps up...it all has to do with peoples reactions to him....he NEVER jumps on my Mom....who lets him come greet her...and she calmly greets him back. Now other people who show excitement towards him....he shows it right back....and then if I can get the person to ignore him...he starts behaving as he should!YEAH! We might get this thing down after all!

Okay...I was thinking...am I really making progress? Tonight, my friend, her baby & sister were outside when we came back from out walk. As soon as we came up, I told them, don't speak to him, don't acknowledge him at all. They were like why? but did it anyway. And it worked again! I put Herkie in a sit, and he maintained his sit! appicon ....He maintained it, until my friend could control herself no longer...and shouted "hey Herkie!" ...well, just for that...I let him jump on her ...and lick her baby in the face (which the baby loved) and Janice didn't mind Herkie giving her baby kisses (he's 1 1/2)...because she doesn't want him to be scared of dogs. And even after that, I was able to get him into sits & hold them....until Janice would harass him! So it really is working!

Doesn't it just make you feel so good when they listen. Ozzy always makes me feel good too. A couple of us meet on Sundays in the school yard and when I call him, he always comes no matter what. Makes a mom proud!
