Water Shy

HI, I not quite sure if I am in the right Forum but anyway! can anyone tell me how to coax my Boxer into Water, I always have her down at the Beach or at the River in the Park but while all the other dogs are having a a great time swimming around my girl is just up to her knees and that's enough. I know Boxers are not historicaly water babys but surely they like a good soaking now and then?

I've never been able to get Susie into the water above her chest. She just will NOT swim, no matter what I've tried.

Maggie isn't bad about the water and willl swim and seems to enjoy it a lot. I coaxed her into the water by first tossing sticks (she loves to fetch sticks) into the shallow waters at the shoreline. She'd fetch and bring/drop. Then I gradually increased the distance I threw the stick into the water until she had to actually swim to get the stick (this took all day one day - gotta go slow). After practicing that, she was more than willing to get into the water and swim around fetching things.

She doesn't swim just to be in the water (they love to run through puddles and things like that) but she will swim and swim to fetch something. She seems to like fetch more in the water than on land.

That's too bad...

Sketch too doesn't like water, but he doesn't seem to mind his bath. It's too bad though, because Sketch has webbed feet. I figure he would be a good swimmer too.
