i was watch an american programme the other day and in it there was dogs who were crate trained and instead of having water bowls they had large water bottles like the ones used for hamsters etc only larger. Has anybody used these? good/bad points please. Its just an idea saves knocked over water bowls in the crate

As far as I've ever read and been told, it is not recommended to put food and water in the dogs crate with them......it only encourages needing to use the bathroom, which is hard on them while they are locked in a crate.........

I am a strong believer that dogs should have access to fresh water at all times so not putting any water in the crate is not an option, i think i might try millie on a water bottle and if it doesn't work i will have to get one of those bowls that clip on to the crate.

Well it's worth a try, especially while they are little & just assume it's part of their crate.

Rogue is nearly 9mths & if I was to put one on her crate now, she would just attack it, so I think that it is best to introduce these things asap.

Let us know how it goes. :)
