I use the shower too, with a shower hose. The bath is so slippery, I think that freaked him out more. I did try putting a towel on the bottom for him to stand on. That way his feet didn't slip, it seemed to help him calm down more. But the shower is much better. I don't have as much bending and I can rinse all the nooks and crannys with the hose. Cooper tolerates his weekly showers, doesn't love them or hate them. But LOVES shaking off and rubbing on all the furniture and rolling on his back when he is all done. :)

I see from a picture in your gallery that Cosworth isn't afraid of water, just the tub & shower, hmmmm. Perhaps you could try using the hose outside. If it's cold, hook the hose up to a sink in the house and use warm water then wrap him up and bring him in right away. Maybe he has a problem with the slippery tub. Poor little dude!

Yeah, he loves the water at the dog park... especially when his girlfriend goes "skinny dipping" with him. ;) I can't keep him out of the creek. He'll run around until he's hot then go wade in the creek up to his eyebrows.

But he hates the hose, hates rain (but loves snow), hates the shower, hates the bath. I thought about using the hose, but it was pretty cold out.

Although he certainly didn't seem to mind when he was rolling the mud puddle. :D

Happy story all around in the end. He's made more new friends today then usual. A pretty face and nice hair really is worth a lot I guess. :)

BTW, the park we were at when he rolled in the puddle was the one in my gallery with him holding the tennis ball. You can imagine how yucky that place gets in the rain.

I Loved your bath story and enjoyed your gallery- Cos is beautiful!
My Payton is SO good in the bath- I guess I'm lucky, huh? (and don't they look and smell great when they're done to???)

Thanks for the laugh! :)

All of you who bathe your babies at home are a lot tougher than I! I tried it a few times when D was little and wound up with a huge mess, a sore back and a very unhappy pup.

We have a self-service dog wash in our neighborhood that is fabulous. They have the full-sized professional groomer's raised sinks and wow are they a lifesaver. Diez's dad and I can both be sinkside scrub-a-dub-dubbing for super fast, low stress baths.

I can't say that D enjoys bathing but he does love the store in general, especially when we have the time to let him romp in the special play area that's set up in the back.

LOL...I bet that would havebeen a sight to see!!! In the summer I give Fletcher a bath in the kiddie pool in the yard and he likes it but he is a shaker. So for that reason I take him to the groomer once the cold weather hits. We have a terrific place near my work that does a bath and dry, nail clipping and ear cleaning for $25.00!! He even got a Halloween bandana last week.

we have these too...we use them on the way home after a long hike ,when we are tired and shes hot and dirty....plus i know when my mom has watched her that they pay a visit there just before we get home so we dont know what kind of messes shes gotten into...plus i dont think old people need or want to bend over a tub
